Determining wgArticleId value within custom skin

Disclaimer: I am not a coder. I need to pull in a unique identifier for each Wiki page for use as a Javascript variable for a script in a customized Monobook skin (pre v1.16). wgArticleId seems to be the perfect way to do so, as it does not change with redirects and is not defined for deleted or special pages. Can someone point me in the correct direction on how to pull in this value within the skin's PHP file itself? I'm not looking for an extension, etc. I need to make the changes directly in the skin. Thanks for your assistance!

How to change $wgHashedUploadDirectory from false to true

I've made $wgHashedUploadDirectory false. I don't remember why. Now I plan to grow the wiki not sure that all the mp3 files that all the files will be OK in one directory. Retrieve raw address of images

DynamicArticleList

I’m using the Dynamic Article List in my MediaWiki site and while upgrading I have been getting errors with new versions of the MediaWiki. Is anyone maintaining this extension? Or is there something else I can use to list most popular and newest articles? Thank you Phil Legault

Debugging Variables

Dear Wiki'ers, I added the following debug variables to a MediaWiki 1.22.8 LocalSettings.php on Windows that is giving me some troubles. $wgShowExceptionDetails=true; $wgShowSQLErrors = true; $wgDebugDumpSql = true; $wgShowDBErrorBacktrace = true; I thought that output would be displayed in the browser, at least for DumpSql, but I'm not getting anything. Do I have to do anything else for these to work in MediaWiki 1.22.8. Thanks for any help ! Lori

Forms inside the wiki

To whoever, I'm currently redesigning a wiki I operate (redesigning it in the Foreground skin) and I'm looking to do something unique, which is: allow end users to create forms. Right now I allow embedded forms from Google, Jotform, Wufoo and SurveyMonkey (for those wondering how -- google & Survey monkey via the Widgets extension & the other two from the Widgetframework extension), but I would like to allow users the ability to use formatted templates inside the Wiki to create those forms. Examples of forms I would like are: polls, surveys, order forms, etc. I could design these forms via the secureHTML extension, but that wouldn't allow the flexibility of allowing users to change the questions, etc. Anyways does anyone have any notions on how to do this? On another note, can SOMEONE connected with Mediawiki.org fix the Extension Matrix? After all it's only been October 2013 that it hasn't worked. Sent from my iPad

multiple application servers

I have an opportunity to migrate a wiki that's currently hosted on one machine to a setup with two application servers and one database server. I understand that I require an HTTP-level cache using either varnish or squid as well as memcached. I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with this configuration and if there are any caveats I should look out for? Thanks Bill
