To whoever,
I'm trying to find away to get rid of, or add a template, to the licensing option on File uploads labeled "None Selected." Via Mediawiki:Licenses one can add any number of licensing options, and have those licensing options call forth a template to be included on the file page. But the "None Selected" option seems to be hard coded and it doesn't seem to be possible to add a template to it via the Mediawiki:Licenses interface. I'm using semantic mediawiki functions & the variable CURRENTUSER (from an extension) to automatically annotate the uploads, via the licensing templates, but the "None Selected" option is leaving a gap in those annotations.
Thanks,
Chris Tharp

Last year, the Wikimedia Foundation started to share the
responsibility[0] of the long term management of the MediaWiki software
project with the wider community. We are continuing the process with a
second Request for Proposals[1] to manage the third-party releases of
MediaWiki (PDF[2]).
The process for this RFP is a community-involved one. There is a
three-week period for organizations to prepare and submit their
proposals, after which the community can comment on and ask questions of
the proposers. The Wikimedia Foundation will take all of this feedback
into account when making the final decision for who will lead the
release management of MediaWiki for the next year.
The deadline for proposals is June 13.
Please do get involved if you are interested in the future of MediaWiki!
Greg

After upgrading to MW1.23 the tabs on the User Preferences screen have
disappeard and appear now as a simple unordered list. The skin is
custom, but is a Vector based subskin with only the header customized.
When I switch back to stock Vector, the tabs return.
Did something change in the way Vector is rendered that I'll have to
re-write my subskin based on the Vector in 1.23?
Thanks
Bill
I've upgraded to MW1.23 and upgraded all of my extensions to their
REL1_23 branches. Now I'm seeing a couple of errors in
/var/log/messages
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getPageLanguage() on a
non-object in .../includes/OutputPage.php on line 1836
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted
(tried to allocate 24 bytes) in .../includes/db/Database.php on line
1035
and oddly the javascript that creates the tabs on User preference
pages isn't working now.
any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bill
I've almost got Scribunto working with my MW1.23 installation.
However, I keep seeing Script Errors such as:
The function "docPage" does not exist.
or
The function "navbox" does not exist.
I've imported (from Wikipedia) the Navbox suit, with Template. Are
these functions defined in a library I may be missing?
Thanks
Bill
Given we have had SUL for almost 5 years, we still lack the ability to set
preference across all wikis. Especially with the the introduction of the
login wiki, this should be doable. Can we get the ball rolling on this?
Hi,
we are going to have another IRC office hour about the migration to
Phabricator: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator
in #wikimedia-office on irc.freenode.net
on June 17, 2014 (Tuesday) at 17:30 UTC
We will quickly present the status, progress, open issues.
And we are happy to answer your questions!
See you at the IRC office hour!
