Security issue--page with child's home address

Dear Media Wiki: I found your page associated with InterceptRadio.com. InterceptRadio has posted the full name and address of my daughter--with a map to our home--apparently after trawling the information at the FCC website (Federal Communications Commission) for licensed amateur radio operators. I want to know how I can have this page permanently deleted: http://www.interceptradio.com/ham.php?call=KI6IMW Two years ago, I changed my daughter's address at the FCC website, but InterceptRadio has not updated. FCC has initiated a huge privacy problem, and with no regard for children, by posting personal information that used to be archived on paper. However, InterceptRadio is compounding the problem by capturing that information, archiving it on the Internet, failing to update it, adding maps to people's homes, and failing to provide any control for the individual. I also want to ask that InterceptRadio post prominent contact information to let people demand deletion of such records. Thank you to everyone on the list for your help.

ampersand issue

Hello, I wiki owner is having an issue with the Ampersand. They went into the sidebar removed the ampersand(&) from a menu item, and it now displays the &AMP; in every item in the menu that has a & in it. Any Ideas on what could be the cause. They put the & back, however, the menu still displays the &AMP; wherever there is one in menu. Thank you.

Database Issues Upgrading from 1.14 to 1.19

We've twice tried to upgrade our MediaWiki site (www.uesp.net) running MediaWiki 1.14 to 1.19 but had the same problem each time. The basic upgrade process and resulting issue goes like: - Set wiki to read only mode. - Backup database and copy into a new database. - Upgrade the new database to 1.19 (no issues though it takes an hour). - Test 1.19 wiki (no issues seen including aggressive load testing with ab). - Switch 1.19 to "live" site. - Right away the database server begins to be overloaded with hundreds of "DELETE FROM l10n_cache WHERE lc_lang=en;" queries. Some page views get through but eventually the Apache servers fill up with connections waiting for the database server which also fills up with connections that never terminate. - Switch back the live site to 1.14. The database server has to be forced closed and restarted to restore service (the delete queries never finish). A few possible causes: - One of our extensions or custom code changes is causing an issue. Unfortunately, some of the more complex/custom extensions cannot be disabled without breaking the site. - Increased database load: Our db servers are very underused and a conservative estimate is they would work fine with a 20x load increase. A small load increase from the apparent changes between 1.14 and 1.19 shouldn't cause this level of database issue. - Our database was originally created with a very old MediaWiki (1.3 I think). While the upgrade from 1.14 to 1.19 works perhaps there are lingering issues that need the wiki database to be recreated from scratch somehow. - An issue with the MediaWiki localization db cache when used with a high traffic site. My next guess on what to try is to set "$wgCacheDirectory" to a local directory which should completely avoid using the database for any localization messages if I understand things correctly. Unfortunately, I have no way of testing if this works without running through another complete upgrade attempt. A couple of basic question about users

Hello: I've looked around for the answers to these questions but have not found any solutions or suggestions. 1) When looking at Special Page > User list, I noticed that some users have a "created on" date beside their user name like: Some User (Created on 22 March 2007 at 14:02) And some do not have anything beside their user name. What causes this to happen? 2) Is there a way to tell if a user who has an account has "never" logged in? Thanks so much for your help with these basic questions. Characters displaying incorrectly

Hello: When searching for the word cliché in my wiki, the search results return pages that have the word in it but it looks like clichÃ© instead of cliché. This is happening with other words and phrases that use characters like: single quotation mark, double quotation mark, apostrophe, en dash, em dash, accent acute, accent grave, tilde, umlaut, etc. What is the best way to fix this? I'm running: MediaWiki: 1.10.2 (r356) PHP: 5.2.17 (cgi) MySQL: 5.0.90-log Thanks, Patricia Barden
