Dear all,
I am trying to migrate an old but important Wiki from its current server to a new machine.
The old machine is a RH Linux running MW 1.5.3 with MySQL 3.23.
The new machine is VMware Linux running with MySQL 5.1.
My mysql usernames are not identical on the two machines.
I would prefer not to modify/upgrade the installation on the old machine. I can mysqldump the old database from the new machine with (--host=<old machine>) and read it into the new database. But I can get neither a copy of my old wiki nor a fresh install of 1.17 to work with these tables. E.g. when I run update.php I get a MySQL error:
1005: Can't create table 'wikidb.transcache' (errno: 121) (localhost)
Can someone enlighten me as to the correct sequence of steps that would be expected to work for such a migration? Or am I even thinking in the right direction?
Thanks!
Boris
Today tried twice to download ParserFunctions using the extension
distributor in the MediaWiki page but it says: "Unable to contact remote
subversion client". There is another way to download extensions?
Thanks,
Daniel
Hi,
I'm a mechanical engineer and I've been trying online calculations.
I'd like the ability to integrate calculators directly into wikipedia.
I think this live attribute would be a great asset to engineers. I put
an example up at
http://www.novanumeric.com/wiki/index.php/Quadratic_Formula I did that
using an iframe though. Is there a better to implement this?

Jeff Brubaker
Please respond on the list and to Sebastian. Thanks!

Hello Sumana,
i've got your email address from Markus Glaser because he thinks, you
could help me.
The company of Markus has a customer, which want's to run Mediawiki with
an Oracle DB.
It's my job to make the wiki running with this setup and i got a problem.
When is start the install process of Mediawiki 1.17, all seems to be okay.
All tables will be created at the database and finally, there comes an
error ORA-01722.
Restarting the installation finishes the installation process and the
localSettings.php will be created and offered to download.
The problem is, that the wiki is running fine but it has no articles on
this time.
When i try to create an article, there comes the following error-message:
Es ist ein Datenbankfehler aufgetreten. Der Grund kann ein
Programmierfehler sein. Die letzte Datenbankabfrage lautete:
INSERT INTO "MWPAGE"
(page_id,page_namespace,page_title,page_counter,page_restrictions,page_is_redirect,page_is_new,page_random,page_touched,page_latest,page_len)
VALUES (:page_id, :page_namespace, :page_title, :page_counter, NULL,
:page_is_redirect, :page_is_new, :page_random, :page_touched,
:page_latest, :page_len)
aus der Funktion "DatabaseOracle::insertOneRow". Die Datenbank meldete
den Fehler "1722: ORA-01722: Ungültige Zahl".
I'm not really sure, because i'm new to Oracle DB, but i think the
Trigger, created in the database build a wrong datatype.
Do you have any idea, what i could do to resolve this problem?
I'm really thankful for any help, i can get.
best regards
Sebastian Ulbricht
Hello,
I wrote the next line in a template:
<td rel="skos:broader">{{{some arg}}}</td>
But the result is:
<td">some arg</td>
¿Why? ¿How can I change that?
I have set:
$wgAllowRdfaAttributes = true;
And I'm using MediaWiki 1.17.0.
Daniel
Hello,
I need to change the @version attribute in the html tag to 'XHTML+RDFa
1.0'. I wrote the lines above in LocalSettings but it doesn't work.
$wgHtml5 = false;
$wgHtml5Version = 'XHTML+RDFa 1.0';
$wgDocType = '-//W3C//DTD XHTML+RDFa 1.0//EN';
$wgDTD = 'http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/DTD/xhtml-rdfa-1.dtd';
$wgMimeType = "application/xhtml+xml";
$wgNoFollowLinks = false;
I'm using MediaWiki 1.17.0.
Thanks,
Daniel
Hi,
I've just installed the semantic task extension, and I'm very confused
not to find any help on how to create the tasks. I've tried looking into
the semantic mediawiki too, but I don't seem to find any help regarding
the creation of tasks.
Does anyone know where I should look?
Thanks

Hello everybody,
I am trying to write a SpecialPage with some kind of wizard functionality. On normal access a HTMLForm with a HTMLSelectField is presented. In the submit callback method of this HTMLForm object I create another HTMLForm with more HTMLFields. So far everything works fine. But when I submit this second HTMLForm the validation process breaks. Instead of running all validation- and filter-callbacks of the HTMLFormFields in the second HTMLForm the Framework renders the first HTMLForm with an error.
Does anybody know how to build a wizard with MediaWikis HTMLForm class? I'm a little stuck here. Help is very appreciated.
Best regards,
Robert Vogel

Hello Folks,
We are using Mediawiki 1.15 running on LAMP infrastructure on our
corporate LAN. We have some training material in audio/video format
(MP4) which we would like to integrate into wiki pages so that users
can watch/listen those files from the wiki pages. How should we go
about doing that?
Thanks.
