Happy Tuesday everyone,
This is really the first time I 'm posting to this list since I figured this
to be the best forum after reading
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Mailing_lists.
So I 've been using MediaWiki for a while now, and all the links in the Wiki
contain the IP address of the Wiki server (in red below). For instance:
Quick start document for adding/deleting circuits
[[http://10.32.6.11/wiki/images/9/96/MegaVision-QuickStart.doc
QuickStart]]
Now the server IP address 10.32.6.11 will no longer be available for use,
and needs to be changed. The Wiki is full of such links, and I think all
these links will become inaccessible after the Wiki Server IP is changed.
I am trying to find a way to change all these links to use the new server IP
(something similar to a grand global find-and-replace). I read the
instructions on "Moving a Wiki" at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Moving_a_wiki, but it really does not
talk about this problem.
I have 3 questions:
1. How do I do this? Where is all this text stored?
2. Is a global find-and-replace the best solution, or is there an
alternative?
3. Was there a way I could 've avoided using the server IP in these links?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Suri
I'm able to use CSS to control wiki page cursors with this syntax,
<span style="cursor:crosshair;">wiki text</span>
but not this,
<span style="cursor:url(http://domain/images/cursorfile.png),
crosshair;">wiki text</span>
which works in the same browser at this page,
http://www.w3schools.com/CSS/tryit.asp?filename=trycss_cursor
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance, --Fred
Q - thanks for replying. Yes, I meant wikilinks.
All the wikilinks in my Wiki have references to the Wiki server IP address
(see example below), which now needs to be changed. So I 'm still trying to
figure out:
1. How do I do this? Where is all this text stored?
2. Is a global find-and-replace the best solution, or is there an
alternative?
Many thanks!
V.

Hi,
On my wiki I need to create a page listing all articles beginning with "A",
another one with all articles beginning with "B", etc.
To achieve that, I've created a page with {{Special:Index/A}}, another one
with {{Special:Index/B}}, another one with {{Special:Index/C}}, etc.
The problem is that this inclusion only shows the first 346 pages
(*i.e.*the first 346 articles beginning with A, but not the following
ones). Is
there a way to overcome this limit? Or maybe is there a better solution to
get this working?
Thank you for any advice!
Laurent
Please complain to the Wikimania organisation, not here. Still, I hope you loved the presentations.

Shame. This requires some plugin stuff.
Hi, I want to use tables in mediawiki and the code that i use works but there is no layout.
As a test, this should make a nice viewing table (example from a learning site):
{| class="prettytable" width="40%"
! Planten || Dieren
|-
| Gras || Koe
|-
| Eucalyptus || Koala
|}
But I get just the text and no graphical table and looks in my wiki just like this:
Planten Dieren
Gras Koe
Eucalyptus Koala
Is there something i forgot ?
Thnx, Ph.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to give everyone an update on Google Summer of Code. This
officially started back toward the end of May, and the students have been
working away at their respective projects:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Summer_of_Code_2010
I've asked all of the students and mentors to help fill out "status"
sections to all of the projects as of this week, since we're at the point
where everyone is starting to ask "hey, what's up with this?". More
importantly, the mid-term evaluations are due at the end of next week. I've
gotten a pretty good response to that request, and I imagine that we'll see
a lot more updates over the coming week.
There has been a little chatter on IRC about the lack of communication, and
I'll accept some of the blame for letting things go on autopilot for a
little while. The good news is that there is status information if you know
where to look, but much of the communication is not in the form that
longstanding community members are used to. So, students and mentors,
please by all means pester us here on this mailing list and jump onto
#mediawiki on IRC when you can, and link your status pages on
mediawiki.orgto your preferred means of providing mass updates.
Thanks!
Rob

This should work
{| border="1"
|Sinaasappel
|Appel
|-
|Brood
|Taart
|-
|Boter
|Sorbet
|}
