I sent this to a friend who is pretty familiar with ForeignRepos:

The debug guide is, I think, <http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Debugging>.
Hope this helps!

Hello
After having imported already existing pages the following message is
emitted :
All revisions were previously imported
could the name of the already imported page be added to the message ?
Thanks

Hello,
I installed the extension cite on our intranet-wiki; works as expected.
Now I saw the nice formatting on wikipedia: If one klicks a footnote
marker [#], the corresponding footnote is nicely higlighted (light blue
background).
How could I gain the same effect on our wiki?
Greetings,
Peter
Hi,
in some older version of MW I specified the location of my logo by:
$wgStylePath = "$wgScriptPath/skins";
$wgLogo = "$wgStylePath/common/images/mypicture.png";
(I don't know if the first line is necessary).
Now I created a new MW-site with MW 1.14.0, and the same location does not
work.
what's wrong ?
cheers
Klaus
Morning all,
I'd like to set up security on a MW site so that:
- the world can see the main page
- only logged-on users can go further
- users have to be approved before gaining initial access
Failing this, all under security, pre-approved and I'll do a separate index
page.
Is there a straightforward way to do this, please?

I have a client with a product that's on Wikipedia, absinthe,
actually. They changed their website but under references there is an
incorrect URL to the old site which they want changed.
But I have no idea how to find the content that populates that
"reflist" template.
Does anybody know?
Thanks!
Tim

Tim again.
We have identified the offending user as "Vapeur". My client, Le
Tourment Vert, originally created the Wikipedia entry a year or so ago.
Is there anything we can do other than set the page to "watch" and
just undo this guy's changes whenever he puts them in?
Thanks!

Hi.
A question about dumpHTML.inc:
function getFriendlyName( $name ) {
global $wgLang;
# Replace illegal characters for Windows paths with underscores
$friendlyName = strtr( $name, '/\\*?"<>|~', '_________' );
# Work out lower case form. We assume we're on a system with case-insensitive
# filenames, so unless the case is of a special form, we have to disambiguate
if ( function_exists( 'mb_strtolower' ) ) {
$lowerCase = $wgLang->ucfirst( mb_strtolower( $name ) );
} else {
$lowerCase = ucfirst( strtolower( $name ) );
}
# Make it mostly unique
if ( $lowerCase != $friendlyName ) {
$friendlyName .= '_' . substr(md5( $name ), 0, 4);
}
# Handle colon specially by replacing it with tilde
# Thus we reduce the number of paths with hashes appended
$friendlyName = str_replace( ':', '~', $friendlyName );
return $friendlyName;
}
How can this last str_replace "reduce the number of paths with hashes appended"?
The hash append happens _before_ this line.
Sorry, for my ignorance.
