After upgrading from version 1.13.1 to 1.13.3 I receive the following error
for both the CheckUser and RenameUser extensions.
*
Fatal error*: Call to undefined method AuthPlugin::getUserInstance() in *
/home/public_html/extensions/CheckUser/CheckUser_body.php* on line *865
**Fatal error*: Call to undefined method AuthPlugin::getUserInstance() in *
/home/public_html/extensions/Renameuser/SpecialRenameuser_body.php* on line
*425*
Any ideas as to what the problem may be?
Thanks!
When logged in as WikiSysop (the only user on the system so far) and I
try and upload an image in my Wiki (version 1.12.0) I get the following
message:-
"File uploads are disabled on Systems."
I have followed the instructions at:-
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuring_file_uploads
I have confirmed the following settings:-
file_uploads = On
Check Apache aliases - I have not been able to check, would this cause
the above message?
www.mydomain.com/wiki/images is set to 755
$wgEnableUploads = true;
As far as I can see there are no permissions set in LocalSettings.php in
fact no variables at all with the text "permissions" in them.
$wgFileExtensions = array( 'png', 'gif', 'jpg', 'jpeg' );
upload_max_filesize is 8Mb
Can anyone help me sort this. Many Thanks
Charlie

Posting to the list.
Before posting to this list, please read the MediaWiki FAQ[10]. Many common
questions are answered here. You may also search the list archives to see if
your question has been asked before.
Please try to ask your question in a way that enables people to answer you.
Provide all relevant details, explain your problem clearly, etc. You may
wish to read [13], which explains how to ask questions well.
To post to the list, send mail to <mediawiki-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>. This is a
public list, so you should not include confidential information in mails you
send.
When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your
message properly. When quoting other messages, please use the "inline" quoting
style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Hi,
at the bottom of every page is the above text.
For the moment, I work on the local version of my site, and then I import new
db to web-version. So the nomber of visitors is wrong.
Is there something I can do about that ?

Hi everyone
I'm trying to run an XML dump. I'm running MediaWiki version1.13.1 . My wiki
is installed on my iMac OS X 10.4.11 . I'm using the Terminal Application to
run dumpBackup.php however when I try and run the script I get the error:
Parse error: parse error, expecting `'('' in
/Library/WebServer/Documents/w/maintenance/dumpBackup.php on line 60
Does anyone know why I'm getting this error? Line 60 in the dumpBackup.php
file is:
$textMode = isset( $options['stub'] ) ? WikiExporter::STUB :
WikiExporter::TEXT;
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Jim

Hi, I am writing an encyclopedia fork. Since I am doing it alone, I have a
lot of redlinks. I would like to redirect all these red links to Wikipedia,
while maintaining its color as still red. How should I go about doing it?

1> I am looking for such an arrangement when a user ( sysop ? ) can
create/delete the accounts with other system operation. I have already
disable the account creation by
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['createaccount'] = false;
But how can I create sysop user ?
2> Is it possible to just make a confirmation arrangement , so that I
can enable the account creation and sysop can then confirm or cancel the
account creation ?
Please suggest

Sorry, this was my error: In the dump file I was looking at
"AmericanSamoa", which was redirected to
"American Samoa" (2002-02-25) and then -- already as a redirect link
-- it was edited again (2005-07-03 and later).
> All those edits should appear there no matter how old the file is,
Yes, thank you very much.
