Is there a simple way in the monobook.css file to "scale up everything".
I'd like the default for all users to be what I see when I in my browser use
CTRL and the "+"-key?

Hello,
I have to setup a MediaWiki instance for my company for internal use.
One of the requirements by the managment is, that there should be a
search "fallback" to the "original" Wikipedia - that means that if
there is no search result at the local installation the search result
of Wikipedia should be displayed.
Is there any possibillity to include the search of any other MediaWiki
installations or is it necessary to write a search plugin for that?
Thanks for your answers

Hello everybody,
I'm using:
* MediaWiki version: 1.12.0
* PHP version: 5.1.2
* MySQL version: 5.0.26
My problem:
I recently installed the SpecialTaskList-extension and the dependend extensions DynamicPageList and ParserFunctions.
After that, i wasn't able to connect to my wiki mainpage (every other wiki site works fine if I use the direct link). I got an "Page can not be displayed"-error.
If I comment (deactivate) the DynamicPageList-extension in the LocalSettings.php everything seems to work fine except the tasklist (because DPL is needed).
How can I reactivate the DPL extension without getting this error? Maybe ther is a configuration faillure... I have made no changes to the extension's or the apache's configuration itself.
Can anyone help me out?
regards, Jens

posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the

avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Hi,
First, sorry for my poor english.
I've created a wiki for children and the « Search in Namespaces » box brings
too much confusion for them. Namespaces like « MediaWiki »,
« MediaWiki_talk », « Template », « Portal », … are not of any importance to
them.
I would like some namespaces NOT TO BE SHOWN in the « Search in
Namespaces » box. I've been looking all over the Internet but didn't find
any solution. $wgNamespacesToBeSearchedDefault<http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgNamespacesToBeSearchedDefault>doens
not seem to do what I need. I
surely could do that by customizing the SpecialSearch.php page but I'm not
sure what to do exactly. I would be very grateful to anyone who could help
me manage that.
I'm using Mediawiki 1.13
Kind regards.
Laurent
Hello, all.
I am planning a revamp and upgrade of an enterprise wiki jumping from
1.4.4 to 1.13. Management would like a "summary of significant changes"
that will benefit the users and administrators. It is a very subjective
question and combing through each of the release notes documents to
garner the requested information will be time consuming. That said, I
don't know of a more effective way to tackle the request. Does there
exist, for the major releases, a summary of user-facing improvements?
Searching the archives for "release notes" or "upgrades," while
interesting reading, did not quite hit the target for me.
Best regards--

Hi;
I want to define by default some Email notification settings in my
MW-wiki.
I want "user talk" and "watchlist" notifications to be checked by
default in users preferences page.
I have in Localsettings.php:
$wgEnableEmail = true;
$wgEnableUserEmail = true;
$wgEmailAuthentication = true;
$wgEnotifUserTalk = true; # UPO
$wgEnotifWatchlist = true; # UPO
And in includes/DefaultSettings.php :
$wgEmailAuthentication = true; # UPO
$wgEnotifWatchlist = true; # UPO
$wgEnotifUserTalk = true;
Maybe I've something wrong?
Thanks,
dvdgmz
