Hello Mediawikians,
We are interested on globally changing the search parameters to include
Categories. I found an article in the archives, but this dates back to
2004:
http://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/htdig/mediawiki-l/2004-December/00274
5.html
In the article it mentions having to change the database to override the
users settings. Does anyone know if there is a different/better way of
accomplishing our goal?
Thanks,
John Getzke
Hi,
Accidentaly it seems that the mediawiki messages (seen in
Special:Allmessages) from a development server ended up on the live
memcached servers. Now the live servers are displaying messages from
the development database (memcached content).
I can confirme this because if I turn off the memcached option in
LocalSettings all comes back to normal... the correct messages are
displayed.
Using ?action=purge on the Special:Allmessages won't do nothing as
also setting $wgCacheEpoch to a future date.
Is there a way to purge this content from the memchached servers, or
ultimately all pages ? How can I reset this ?
I've search for something similar to maintenance/
deleteImageMemcached.php but didn't find anything.
Thanks.
Im installing on a new machine and im getting this
Couldn't find Turck MMCache, eAccelerator, or APC. Object caching
functions cannot be used.
although in my phpinfo eAccelerator is listed.
http://64.22.97.143/~rpedia/phpinfo.php
"This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine:
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies
with eAccelerator v0.9.5, Copyright (c) 2004-2006 eAccelerator,
by eAccelerator"
Anyway to tell the install that it IS there?
Thanks,
-Adam
My eaccelerator cache is in /opt/lamp/tmp/eaacelerator/
I think this is not a default location. How can I tell mediawiki to use
this location? And how can I know whether eaccelerator is working with
MW or not?
(eaccelerator is showing as enabled in phpinfo)
Regards,
Jack

It doesn't show on Special:
I just have:
## Shared memory settings
$wgMainCacheType = CACHE_ACCEL;
$wgMessageCacheType = CACHE_ACCEL;
$wgParserCacheType = CACHE_ACCEL;
$wgMemCachedServers = array();
It doesn't show up in Special:Version, but benchmark it (with Apache
Bench,
for instance) with and without the caching enabled, and you should see
the
difference.

I'm getting this warning after saving an edit, when the system prompts me
for the captcha. This seems to occur whether I'm using the default
SimpleMath, or ReCAPTCHA. It still works fine, but this warning appears at
the top of the screen every time:

Hi,
My test wiki is on a Windows machine. I tried running the maintenance
scripts from command line.
The command I executed was
D:\PROGRA~1\EasyPHP 2.0b1\php5>php -cli "D:\Program Files\EasyPHP
2.0b1\www\sunwiki\maintenance\dumpHTML.php"
The error I got is "DB connection error: MySQL functions missing, have
you compiled PHP with the --with-mysql option?"
How to rectify this? In the Adminsettings.php files, what are the values
to be given?-mysql db username/password or wiki's sysop
username/password?

Jack

I'm trying to use pagefromfile.py and everything is fine until I use
a certain user ID as the login for the bot.
But if I try with a different user ID (configured the same way, login
ok) the script runs but refuse to modify the
page saying that I either have a cascade lock set or I'm affected by
bug 9226.
Hints or solutions anybody?
Thanks a lot,
Maurizio
I want to change the footer area and add a statistics code to my wiki, right before the Body tag of each page. Is there anything like Mediawiki:footer?
I found this message from 2005, but it asks me to change all the skins:
http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-l/2005-July/005951.html
Is there a better way of doing this?
Erik

Hi Marc,
Sorry I forgot to do this yesterday...Account created. Actually,
lots of the CSHL people could have done it too, but they probably
forgot that they have the power. With your account, you can also
create new users on EcoliWiki.
The next version of TableEdit does away with the Create Table Here
link. Just puts an empty table in directly. I will try to work on
a way to make it do infoboxes like the ones on Wikipedia. You can
now make the float, though:
http://ecoliwiki.net/colipedia/index.php/Doodle
controlled by
http://ecoliwiki.net/colipedia/index.php/Template:Database_table
Does that work for reactome?
