migrating a MediaWiki installation

Hello everyone! If I need to migrate a MediaWiki installation from one machien to another, how do I go about that task? In other words: 1) Is there an established procedure? 2) If so, where is it described? Thanks in advance. SMW1.0 RC2 available

Hi all, the next release candidate for SMW1.0 is now available for download. It brings mostly bugfixes to problems encountered with RC1, but also has some new features. The major changes are: * More liberal parsing for geographic coordinates, most user inputs accepted now. * Improved URL datatype: better linking behaviour, tolerant towards Unicode-URLs. * Significantly improved performance for RDF export. * Complete translations for Fr, Zh-tw, and Zh-ch added (thanks to Pierre Matringe and Roc Michael). Provide Contributor priviledges on a specified wiki page

Hello, My Mediawiki got the SSO plugin to authenticate users. It's configured to only allow READ to everybody and just a few people inside the `contributor` group can edit pages. I would like to know if there is a way to grant contributor access on a specified of Wiki page at 2 extra people ? File coding

Hi, I have a problem with coding. What kind of coding do I have to use in MW if any changes are needed in .php files? I heard that I should save all .php files in UTF-8 (including LocalSetting.php). In this case my MW sites have got wrong appearance and for example Breadcrumbs extension does not work right. Regards, Gabor Reizer MKB Bank Hungary

Appearance changes between localhost and FQDN

Hi all, I just made an interesting discovery: When I call my wiki from a browser running on the actual server, the appearance is dependent on the adress I use: If i call the wiki using localhost (htp://localhost/wiki/), the field titles ("seite", "navigation", "suche", "werkzeuge") all begin with lower case letters. When I call the wiki using the fully qualified domain name (XXX.rockwellcollins.com/wiki/) all these titles begin with an uppercase letter ("Seite", "Navigation" and so on).
