Hi All,
Is there any way that i can create a subfolder under the images folder and
then automatically when uploading images upload them to this folder. I want
to do this so that i can separtae out images belonging to different groups
and not have the same name for image problem.
Any kind of pointers will be helpful.
thanks,
amruta
Hi,
My wiki worked just fine util yesterday, when one of my colleagues tried to edit a page. Now I get a message all the time, which tells me, that there's been an syntax error in the mysql query. The system won't tell me the query, but sais it's the function "MediaWikiBagOStuff::_doinsert". MySQL reports error "1: Can't create/write to file '/tmp/ML51B6Nz' (Errcode: 30) (localhost)".
Same errorcode when I tried to set up a new wiki with new tables (in the same database).
Because my provider doesn't offer PHP5 I'm using MediaWiki v1.68.
If you had any suggestions how I could get my wiki back on track I'd be truly grateful!
Thanks in advance!
Sebastian
Hi
I have been using 1.5.5 with an extension that hooked
ParserBeforeTidy to add some HTML to the end of each article.
Since upgrading to 1.7.1 I have noticed the HTML I add in the callback
is also
rendered with "This page has been accessed N times." Looking through the
MW 1.7.1 code
I found in SkinTemplate.php line 315:
$tpl->set('viewcount', wfMsgExt( 'viewcount', array( 'parseinline' ),
$viewcount ) );
I have worked around the problem locally by changing the line back to:
$tpl->set('viewcount', wfMsg( "viewcount", $viewcount ));
Is this a bug? If not how should I use the callback for
ParserBeforeTidy so my extension
does not add the HTML when not rendering an article? Am I using the
right callback for what I want?
Thanks
Matt

In need of some sort of a system to create Footnotes, I scrounged around
until I found the Cite.php option, referenced here:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Cite/Cite.php I downloaded both files
listed on that page (Cite.php and Cite.i18n.php) and uploaded them to my
extensions folder in my MediaWiki. I also edited my LocalSettings.php to
include the line: include('$IP/extensions/Cite.php');
The line that references $IP at LocalSettings.php reads: $IP =
"/home/blahblah/public_html/wikific";
where "blahblah" is my real root which I do not wish to disclose.
At first, I got some errors, such as this one:
Warning: main($IP/extensions/Cite.php): failed to open stream: No such
file or directory in
/home/blahblah/public_html/wikific/LocalSettings.php on line 110
Warning: main($IP/extensions/Cite.php): failed to open stream: No such
file or directory in
/home/blahblah/public_html/wikific/LocalSettings.php on line 110
Warning: main(): Failed opening '$IP/extensions/Cite.php' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/home/blahblah/public_html/wikific:/home/blahblah/public_html/wikific/includes:/home/blahblah/public_html/wikific/languages')
in /home/blahblah/public_html/wikific/LocalSettings.php on line 110
....but I realized it was because Cite.i18n.php was improperly named on
my server. Once I resolved that, I expected the page on which I'd
already used the <ref>... </ref> and <references/> to start using the
footnotes... yet it doesn't. I don't get an error or anything, but it
just continues to display the tags as if they're part of the article
text. (The article:
http://www.seventh-star.net/wikific/index.php/1980_Decanates)
I am running a version of MediaWiki compatible with this extension
(1.6.7; the extension says it works with 1.6.x).
What can I do to get this system working?

i've put the randomimage extension on my mediawiki,
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/RandomImage, and it works very nice.
however, in the documentation says
>The image will change when the parser cache is
>expired, either automatically or by purging the page, allowing for rotation
>of content.
As the developer says, I get a random image, but it doesn't change
when i refresh the page, because it depends on the 'parser cache'.
my question is
when does the parser cache expire?
how can i purge the page?
any idea?
thanks in advance!!!
Any word on this?

Ah yes. Mea culpa.

You bet! "Those who don't study history are condemned to repeat

Y'know, James -- we're really dating ourselves here... :-)
