Function to get imagepath by wiki-imagename?

Hi, I'm writing an extension to display an linked image within an article. Usualy any displayed image in mediawiki ist linked to its own article. I need to display images what are linked to an other article - for example Main_Page. My problem is, that i like to use the common wiki imagename as a parameter and I don't know how to get the image's path by its name. For exapmle: <linkedimage> image=Imagage:Imagename.png <linkedimage> The question is, how to get the location (path) of the image represented by 'Image:Imagename.png'. Is there any function to get the path, by Imagename or something similar? thanks in advance Alex

You could do what most other people have done and add $wgSpamRegex="/overflow:\s*auto/"; to your localsettings file; this will block any posts with that tag. Graphviz extension

Hallo, I would like to integrate "Graphviz" extension in ZUM-Wiki (www.zum.de/wiki). Thanks, Rob. Sorry for not being clear before, but I've already tried to write the "á" in the title. It didn't work. Some issue while working with extended characters must be involved here, but I've not idea about what happened. As for the scripts. Thank you so much for the improvement. As far as I needed to solve this before tomorrow, I've replace $id = $title->getArticleID(); with $id = xxxx, being xxxx the actual page in troubles ID. It worked like a charm. I do promise to improve my PHP skills to proposed a solution valid for the community! I am interested in adding mechanically-generated content (e.g., text, images) to MediaWiki pages, as discussed in http://www.cfcl.com/~rdm/weblog/archives/001002.html I think that the cleanest way to do this might be to let the user put in an "include" request for some specified content. A program could then note the request and generate a file, which MW could fold into the page whenever it was displayed. Problem is, I don't know what provision (if any) MW has for including files, etc. I've looked over Help:Contents and the extensions list, but I haven't recognized anything that seems relevant. Hi everyone, I really apologize for some of these simple questions, and if they¹ve been asked before. It¹s a real challenge to find some of this information (from a more layman standpoint). I¹m curious what the capacity is for MediaWiki¹s look to integrate with an existing website? Does one just have control over the logo in the left, or is the entire wiki subject to CSS design styles? Is it possible to track a user's activity (other than watched pages, of course) to see who has logged in and how much time they have spent in the wiki?

MediaWiki v1.5.6 install on FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE-p2 *jail* (part 1)

Hi, It was a little bumpy. So I'll log what I did here. Advice always appreciated. My system: * An amd64 CPU running FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE-p2, with 2G DDRAM. * Jailed -- my access to the server is limited to a Jail within the server; I have almost an entire server environment within my jail but because it is within a jail I do not have controll over the kernel and some other stuff which limits me in ways that it helps to be aware of. (For example, setting up a firewall does not work within a jail because a jail does not controll the network interfaces on the actual host server.) * Hosted by the California Community Colo project at the HE data center in Fremont, California. MediaWiki v1.5.6 install ---------------------------------- 1) I updated my ports tree with: # cvsup -g -L 2 -h cvsup11.freebsd.org \ /usr/share/examples/cvsup/ports-supfile 2.0) I tried to install /usr/ports/www/mediawiki with: # cd /usr/ports/www/mediawiki # make install && make clean but that failed at installing required php5-mbstring and reported "./configure.lineno: 6506: Syntax error" a bug in the compile script probably. 2.1) So I tried to install the dependency php5-mbstring with pkg_add instead (pkg_add installs a precompiled binary instead of trying to compile it on my system from source the way ports does). # pkg_add -r php5-mbstring but that failed at installing required apache1.3.33 because I have apache2 already; it reported "pkg_add: package 'apache-1.3.33_1' conflicts with apache-2.1.4" 2.1.2) So I installed the dependency php5-mbstring with the -f (force) flag so that it would not balk at my apache2. # pkg_add -r -f php5-mbstring worked (Alternatively I could have switched to using apache-1.3.33 which is an excellent choice I'm told but I chose not to do that because I have apache2 already running another site and didn't want to convert things) 2.2) Now, with php5-mbstring already onboard via pkg_add I succeeded with # cd /usr/ports/www/mediawiki # make install && make clean worked (installed MediaWiki v1.5.6). Hurray! It is in /usr/local/www/data-dist/mediawiki And next I will attempt /usr/local/www/data-dist/mediawiki/INSTALL That's enough for part 1.
