Thanks, but I am looking for the [edit] that is defined for headers.
I.E. when you make a callout: ==Heading== , it displays "Heading
[edit]" when the page is rendered.
I want to change the [edit] to use a small image.

Edit the pages [[MediaWiki:Edit]] and [[MediaWiki:Editthispage]].

For skinning reasons, I would like to replace the [edit] with a small
image. Where is this called out? I have not been able to find it.

I've put your hack into its own page on meta. If you've got your own
user there, feel free to move it.

ack
I'm interested to know if anyone figures something out for 1.5.. I feel
that permissions is one of the major barriers to a certain kind of use
of mediawiki. _______________________________________________

Is this the code for 1.5?

Here's my (very very hacky) way of doing it:
Edit includes/EditPage.php.
After these lines
if ( !$wgUser->isAllowed('edit') ) {
if ( $wgUser->isAnon() ) {
$this->userNotLoggedInPage();
return;
} else {
$wgOut->readOnlyPage(
$this->mArticle->getContent( true ), true );
return;
}
}
(about line 185) add these lines:
$this->mArticle->fetchContent();
if ( !$wgUser->isSysop() &&
$this->mArticle->mTitle->getNamespace()
== NS_USER &&
$wgUser->getName() !=
$this->mArticle->mTitle->getText() )
{
$wgOut->readOnlyPage ($this->mArticle->getContent
(true), true);
return;
}
Hope this helps.

(new to MediaWiki)
Seeking some guidelines/examples of custom CSS layout in the MediaWiki
infrastructure.
Specifically, setting up a template and or a design for documentation
(internal/company/IT, etc.). I read through the mediawiki.org
documentation, and found myself getting lost in the details. It's not
clear to me how to correctly apply the CSS rules, and how/if they are
inherited only in that Wiki section, or if you can do other fancy tricks.
Thanks.
I have experimented with a combination of categorization and the
dynamic page list extension:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/DynamicPageList but it isn't nearly as
handy as it could be.
The WikiGTD doesn't work for 1.4, and I don't believe it's multi-user:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiGTD
I was wondering what solutions people know of with regards to
MediaWiki as, or used by, a task or project management tool.
When I upgraded to 1.5, I had to re-skin everything. The monobook.php
file was very different than the 1.4 version. That might be the same
case when upgrading from 1.3-1.4

Subject: [Mediawiki-l] missing stylesheet
hi
I had a working mediawiki MediaWiki 1.3.9
PHP 5.0.4 (apache2handler)
MySQL 4.1.7-standard
it all worked fine on fedora core 3, upgraded to 4 and stylesheets don't
work (background not shown, not nicely formatted) - obviously I haven't
deleted them they are still there, settings file is as before. I also
rebuilt from backup but its the same. I changed all the permissions to
apache:apache but no difference so doesn't seem to be that. Any ideas ?
