Salmanji,
Please don't take it personally either... we are not "competing" for the
cities.. :)
Do note that the journo is from a Bangalore edition newspaper, so
obviously will highlight the "Bangalore part". :)
The journo asked about what are the "chances" for Bangalore, I said my
personal opinions. She asked her "other contacts" in other cities too.. I
also stressed the fact that it is upto the Foundation to decide where this
has to be ( which wasn't mentioned in the article).
What matters is not where the foundatation office is set up, what is
important is to grow the wiki-community and culture in every corner of the
country.

lol......so does that mean we are all competing for our cities, I didnt
get that impression so far.

If Priyanka Prachad has been quoted right, I'll have to say it is
rather unfair to say that "Bangalore has tiny forums and Mumbai has
none". There are strong communities from out of Bangalore. Shouldn't need to
add that Mumbai has equally strong communities as well.
There is diverse language community thriving on Internet from Bangalore.
In fact, a community in the local language that I personally maintain (
http://sampada.net) started in 2005 has had regular stream of
increasing users all these years. And there are strong communities like
Praja (
http://praja.in), Citizen Matters (citizenmatters.in), India
Water Portal (
http://indiawaterportal.org/) and many more from
Bangalore... the list is huge.
