I think this should go into separate wiki. Generally, companies (i don't know about wikimedia's practices here) use the concept of 'written language' to keep the site integrity. For example, 'zh-Hant' (Traditional Chinese in predominant in Taiwan) will be in a separate site from 'zh' (Simplified chinese predominantly in mainland china). There are many examples for this, 'sr-Latn' and 'sr' would be another one. Similarly, we would need 'ml' (same as ml-Mlym), 'ml-Arab', 'ml-Syrc' etc.
A not about this: Wikimedia keeps language variants together into a single wikipedia. For eg, visit sr.wikipedia.org, you can see sr-Latin is same wiki and provides a link to choose language variant. These wikis often use machine transliteration of content across variants.
Same applies for Traditional, chinese wikis.
