A rough summary of the article would be something like this>> *It says that lots of people may have varied opinions of which is "must keep" book at home - It may be Kottarathil Sankunni's "Aithihyamala" or Thunchaththu Ezhuthachan's "Adhyathmaramayanam" or "Hari Nama Keerthanam" or "Works of Sree Narayana Guru" or Sathyavedapusthakam ( Bible) or Quran... While such a list may be long, imagine every one of them are available together on a CD in digital form. Such a CD was released as a part of Malayalam Wikimeetup at Kannur on 11 June. The Malayalam Wikisource CD is a compilation of valuable literary works , whose Copyrights have expired. * * * *The CD is categorized into 8 sections including Poetry, Grammer, Legends , spirituality etc. The CD version can connect with the online version too. Both the CD contents ( http://www.mlwiki.in/wikisrccd/index.html ) and CD ISO image ( http://www.mlwiki.in/cdimage/mlwikisource.iso ) are also available online for download. * * * *Apart from the numerous poems, folk songs, devotional songs, novel, grammar book, tales, books on Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Communism and Philosophy, there is also a collection of images which are related to Malayalam and Kerala.* * * *This is the first offline version of any language Wikisource in the world. Malayalee Wiki activists claims that this is the largest Malayalam digital archive in the world. The project reminds the need of new methods for the survival of the language in the digital era. * * * *This is the not first time the Mlayalam Wikicommunity has come up with such an unique project. Earlier , It released a offline version of hundreds of Malayalam Wikipedia articles in a compact disk, which had also attracted world wide attention. * ( Malayalam version below ) "ഓരോ മലയാളിയുടെയും വീട്ടില്‍ അത്യാവശ്യം വേണ്ട ഗ്രന്ഥമേത് എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ പലരും പല മറുപടിയാകും നല്‍കുക. കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍ ശങ്കുണ്ണി രചിച്ച 'ഐതിഹ്യമാല'യാണ് ഓരോ മലയാളിയുടെയും വീട്ടില്‍ അത്യാവശ്യം വേണ്ട മലയാളഗ്രന്ഥമെന്നും, കേരളത്തില്‍ വളരുന്ന ഓരോ കുട്ടിയും അത് വായിച്ചിരിക്കണമെന്നും അഭിപ്രായമുള്ളവരുണ്ട്. അതല്ല, തുഞ്ചത്ത് എഴുത്തച്ചന്റെ 'ആദ്ധ്യാത്മരാമായണം കിളിപ്പാട്ട്' ആണ് ഓരോ മലയാളിയുടെയും വീട്ടില്‍ തീര്‍ച്ചയായും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ട മലയാളഗ്രന്ഥമെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഏറെയാണ്. 'ഹരിനാമകീര്‍ത്തനം' ഇല്ലാത്ത ഭവനം ഭവനമാണോ എന്ന് ചോദിക്കുന്നവരുമുണ്ട്. ചിലര്‍ക്ക് വീട്ടില്‍ വേണ്ടത് 'ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരുവിന്റെ കൃതികള്‍' ആകാം. അതല്ല, സത്യവേദപുസ്തകമാണ് വേണ്ടതന്നെ അഭിപ്രായക്കാരുമുണ്ട്. ഖുര്‍ആനും ഒഴിവാക്കാനാവില്ല എന്ന് വാദിക്കുന്നവരുമുണ്ട്. ഈ പട്ടിക ഇങ്ങനെ നീണ്ടു പോകും. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും മലയാളികള്‍ അത്യാവശ്യം വായിക്കുകയും പഠിക്കുകയും വേണ്ട പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ തന്നെയാണ് മേല്‍ സൂചിപ്പിച്ചവ ഓരോന്നും. ഇവയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം ഇനിയും ഏറെയെണ്ണം ചേര്‍ത്ത് വെയ്ക്കാം. അത്തരം അമൂല്യമായ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു സമാഹാരം ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ രൂപത്തില്‍ സിഡിയില്‍ ലഭ്യമാകുന്ന കാര്യം ആലോചിച്ചു നോക്കൂ. അങ്ങനെയൊരു സിഡി ഇപ്പോള്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്-'മലയാളം വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാല-തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കൃതികള്‍'. ജൂണ്‍ 11 ന് കണ്ണൂരില്‍ നടന്ന വിക്കിസംഗമത്തിലാണ് മലയാളം വിക്കി ഗ്രന്ഥശാലയിലെ കൃതികളടങ്ങിയ സിഡി പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തത്. പകര്‍പ്പവകാശ കാലാവധി കഴിഞ്ഞ മലയാളം കൃതികളാണ് സിഡിയിലുള്ളത്. പകര്‍പ്പവകാശ കാലാവധി കഴിഞ്ഞ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങള്‍ എന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമാത്രം ഈ സിഡിയിലെ ഉള്ളടക്കത്തിന്റെ സവിശേഷത തീരുന്നില്ല. സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ക്ക് അത്ര ലഭ്യമല്ലാത്ത ഒട്ടേറെ കൃതികളും ഇതില്‍ ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കാവ്യങ്ങള്‍, ഭാഷാവ്യാകരണം, ഐതിഹ്യം, ആത്മീയം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എട്ട് വിഭാഗങ്ങളും വിക്കിചിത്രശാലയെന്ന ചിത്രസമാഹാരവുമാണ് സിഡിയുടെ ഉള്ളടക്കം. സിഡി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഓഫ്‌ലൈനില്‍ തന്നെ അതിലെ ഉള്ളടക്കം വായിക്കാനാകും. ഈ സിഡിയുടെ ഉള്ളടക്കം പൂര്‍ണമായും ഓണ്‍ലൈനിലും ലഭ്യമാണ്.*http://www.mlwiki.in/wikisrccd/index.html * <http://www.mlwiki.in/wikisrccd/index.html>എന്ന ലിങ്കില്‍ പോവുക. വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാലയിലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കൃതികളുടെ സിഡി http://www.mlwiki.in/cdimage/mlwikisource.iso എന്ന ലിങ്കില്‍ നിന്ന് നേരിട്ട് ഡൗണ്‍ലോഡ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ സാധിക്കും. ഈ സമാഹാരത്തില്‍ ഏറ്റവും സമ്പന്നമായ വിഭാഗം 'കാവ്യങ്ങളു'ടേതാണ്. വീണ പൂവ്, നളിനി, ലീല, വനമാല, മണിമാല തുടങ്ങി കുമാരനാശാന്റെ കൃതികള്‍ സമഗ്രമായി ഇതിലുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ ചെറുശ്ശേരിയുടെ 'കൃഷ്ണഗാഥ', ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ, കുഞ്ചന്‍ നമ്പ്യാര്‍, ഇരയിമ്മന്‍ തമ്പി, രാമപുരത്ത് വാര്യര്‍ എന്നിവരുടെ കൃതികള്‍ ഒക്കെ ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ രൂപത്തില്‍ മനോഹരമായി മുന്നിലെത്തും. ഭാഷാവ്യാകരണം വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ 'കേരളപാണിനീയം' പൂര്‍ണരൂപത്തില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. ഐതിഹ്യം വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ 'ഐതിഹ്യമാല' എന്ന ബൃഹത്ഗ്രന്ഥം മുഴുവനും വായിക്കാം. മലയാളത്തിലെ ലക്ഷണമൊത്ത ആദ്യനോവലായ ചന്തുമേനോന്റെ 'ഇന്ദുലേഖ'യാണ് നോവല്‍ വിഭാഗത്തിലുള്ള ഏക കൃതി. Dear fellow Wikimedians, With great pleasure, Malayalam Wikimedia Community announced its 2011 CD project "Selected Books from Malayalam Wikisource on CD - 1.0" at the 4th annual Wiki Meetup in Kannur, Kerala. This is by far the biggest digital collection of free books in Malayalam language available on CD for offline use. This is an important milestone, as majority of the households in Kerala does not have internet or does not have an always on connection and this will enable them to access these books as an offline content. And how are you going to distribute it? > As of now we have produced *500 CD*s to distribute among the participants of 4th Malayalam wikimeetup. It is almost over now. Now few social organizations, books, magazines, and so on have come forwrad to reuse the content of this CD for their various types of distributions. Malayalam Wikimedians do not have plans to produce more copies of this wikisource CD. We expect people outside wiki community will take over it now. നാലാമത് മലയാളം വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സംഗമം - പ്രമേയം സ്വതന്ത്രമായി വിജ്ഞാനം ഉല്പാദിപ്പിക്കുക, വിനിമയം ചെയ്യുക, പങ്കുവെക്കുക എന്നിവയാണ് വിക്കിമീഡിയ സംരഭങ്ങളുടെ പ്രഖ്യാപിത ലക്ഷ്യം. ജനാധിപത്യസംവിധാനമുള്ള ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ സംരംഭങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പലതരം വിജ്ഞാനപദ്ധതികളും ഇപ്പോഴും കോപ്പിറൈറ്റ് നിബന്ധനകളുള്ളതിനാല്‍ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ കഴിയാത്ത അവസ്ഥയിലാണ്. ഈ വിജ്ഞാനസമ്പത്തെല്ലാം നമുക്ക് ഓരോരു‍ത്തര്‍ക്കും യഥോചിതം ഉപയോഗിക്കാന്‍ ലഭ്യമാകേണ്ടതാണ്. അതിനാല്‍ സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള വെബ് സൈറ്റുകളുടെയും വെബ് അനുബന്ധ സേവനങ്ങളുടെയും ലൈസന്‍സ് ക്രിയേറ്റീവ് കോമണ്‍സ് ഷെയര്‍ അലൈക്ക് പോലെയുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്ര ലൈസൻസിലേയ്ക്ക് മാറ്റുകയും അതുവഴി ഏതൊരാള്‍‌ക്കും ആവശ്യാനുസരണം ഉപയോഗിക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യം ഉണ്ടാക്കണമെന്നും നാലാമത് മലയാളം വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സംഗമം കേരള സര്‍ക്കാരിനോട് അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു. വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സംഗമം - ഉദ്ഘാടനം നാലാമത് മലയാളം വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സംഗമം കണ്ണൂര്‍ ലൈബ്രറി കൗണ്‍സില്‍ ഹാളില്‍ പ്രമുഖ കേരള സർവ്വകലാശാലയുടെ മുൻ വൈസ് ചാൻസലറും സാമൂഹ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തകനും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവിചക്ഷണനുമായ ഡോ. ബി. ഇക്ബാല്‍ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. ലാഭേച്ഛയില്ലാതെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരുകൂട്ടം ചെറുപ്പക്കാര്‍ വിക്കിമീഡിയ പോലുള്ള വിക്കി സംരംഭങ്ങളില്‍ സംഭാവന ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നത് ഇക്കാലത്ത ഏവര്‍ക്കും അനുകരണീയമായ പ്രവൃത്തിയാണെന്ന് ഇദ്ദേഹം ഉദ്ഘാടനപ്രസംഗത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. സാംസ്കാരിക പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും ഭാഷാസ്നേഹികളും വിക്കി സംരംഭങ്ങളിലേക്ക് കടന്നുവന്ന് ഈ സംരംഭത്തെ കൂടുതല്‍ ശക്തിമത്താക്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയേയും സഹോദര സംരംഭങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ഷിജു അലക്സ് സദസ്സിന് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയെക്കുറിച്ച് അനൂപ് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി മലയാളം ഗ്രന്ഥശാലയെക്കുറിച്ച് മനോജ് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. സംശയങ്ങൾക്ക് മറുപടി മനോജ്, ഷിജു അലക്സ് എന്നിവർ ചേർന്ന് മറുപടി നൽകി. മലയാളം വിക്കിചൊല്ലുകളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഫുവാദ് സദസ്സിനു പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. സംശയങ്ങൾക്ക് മറുപടി ഷിജു അലക്സ്, ഫുവാദ്, ജുനൈദ് എന്നിവർ ചേർന്ന് മറുപടി നൽകി. മലയാളം വിക്കിമീഡിയയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്ന പരിപാടിയെക്കുറിച്ചും അതിന്റെ അവലോകനവും ശ്രീജിത്ത് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. ചിത്രങ്ങൾ സംഭാവന നൽകിയതിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ ഉപയോക്താവിനേയും, ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ സംഭാവന നൽകിയ ഉപയോക്താവിനേയും, സ്ത്രീ ഉപഭോക്താക്കകളേയും പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. വിക്കിപീഡിയ കോമൺസിനെക്കുറിച്ച് സദസ്സിനു പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുകയും, സംശയങ്ങൾക്ക് മറുപടി പറയുകയും ചെയ്തു. വിക്കിപീഡിയ പദ്ധതിയായ ഭൂപടനിർമ്മാണപദ്ധതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഷിജു അലക്സ് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. പദ്ധതിയുടെ സാങ്കേതികവശങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും അതിന്റെ കൂടുതൽ വിവരങ്ങളും, ഇതുവരെയുള്ള സ്ഥിതിവിവരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും അജയ് കുയിലൂർ സദസ്സിനു വിവരിച്ചു. അന്ധന്മാര്‍ക്ക് വിക്കിപീഡിയ പോലുള്ള വിക്കിപദ്ധതികള്‍ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്ന സംവിധാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് കാസര്‍കോഡ് അന്ധവിദ്യാലയത്തില്‍ ഹെഡ്മാസ്റ്ററായ സത്യന്‍ ക്ലാസ്സെടുത്തു. മലയാളം വിക്കി പദ്ധതികളും മറ്റു വെബ്സൈറ്റുകളിലും എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ മലയാളം ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്ന നാരായം എന്ന സോഫ്റ്റ്‌വെയറിനെ ജുനൈദ് പി.വി. പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. മലയാളം വിക്കി പദ്ധതികളും മറ്റു മലയാള വെബ്സൈറ്റുകളും ഫോണ്ട് ഡൗണ്‍ലോഡ് ചെയ്യാതെ തന്നെ കാണാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്ന വെബ്ഫോണ്ടുകളെക്കുറിച്ച് സന്തോഷ് തോട്ടിങ്ങല്‍ ക്ലാസ്സെടുത്തു. കേരളത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍നിന്നുള്ള എണ്‍പതോളം പേര്‍ സംഗമത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. വിക്കിമീഡിയ ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്‍ പ്രതിനിധികളായ ബിശാഖ ദത്ത, ഹിഷാം മുണ്ടോള്‍, ടോറി റീഡ് എന്നിവരും സംഗമത്തില്‍ സന്നിഹിതരായിരുന്നു. മലയാളം വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാല സിഡി പ്രകാശനം മലയാളം വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാലയിലെ വിവിധ കൃതികൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് തയ്യാറാക്കിയ സിഡി വിക്കി പ്രവർത്തക സംഗമത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു. പകർപ്പവകാശകാലാവധി കഴിഞ്ഞ വിവിധ മലയാള കൃതികളാണ് മലയാളം വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാലയിലുള്ളത്. അദ്ധ്യാത്മരാമായണം, ബൈബിൾ, സത്യവേദപുസ്തകം, ഖുർആൻ, മലയാളത്തിലെ ആദ്യനോവലായ ഇന്ദുലേഖ, വ്യാകരണഗ്രന്ഥമായ കേരളപാണിനീയം, തുഞ്ചത്തെഴുത്തച്ഛൻ, ചെറുശ്ശേരി, കുമാനരാശാൻ, കുമരനാശാൻ, ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരു, ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ എന്നിവരുടെ സമ്പൂർണകൃതികൾ, ഐതിഹ്യമാല, ഭക്തിഗാനങ്ങൾ, തനതുഗാനങ്ങൾ, തത്വശാസ്ത്രം, കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് മാനിഫെസ്സറ്റോ, വിക്കിമീഡിയ കോമൺസിലെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാല സിഡിയിൽ ലഭ്യമാണ്. ഇത്തരത്തിൽ ഗ്രന്ഥശാലയുടെ ഓഫ്‌ലൈൻ സിഡി ഇറക്കുന്ന ലോകത്തിലെ ആദ്യ സംരംഭമാണിത്. മലയാളത്തിൽ പുറത്തിറക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഡിജിറ്റൽ ആർക്കൈവ് കൂടിയാണ് ഈ സിഡി. മലയാളം വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തകസംഗമം - ലക്ഷ്യം ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലുള്ള അനേകം പേരാണ് വിവിധ വിക്കി പദ്ധതികളില്‍ ദിനംതോറും സംഭാവന ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. മലയാളം വിക്കി പദ്ധതികളുടെയും അവസ്ഥ വിഭിന്നമല്ല. നേരില്‍ കാണാതെത്തന്നെ ഓണ്‍ലൈനായി നിരന്തരം ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്തുകയും യാതൊരു ലാഭേച്ഛയുമില്ലാതെ വിക്കിപിഡിയ, വിക്കിഗ്രന്ഥശാല, വിക്കിചൊല്ലുകള്‍, വിക്കിനിഘണ്ടു, വിക്കിപാഠശാല, വിക്കിമീഡിയ കോമണ്‍സ് തുടങ്ങി വിവിധി സംരംഭങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഇവര്‍ തങ്ങളാലാവുന്നത് സംഭാവന ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്ക് നേരില്‍ കാണാനും പരിചയം പുതുക്കാനും വിക്കിപദ്ധതികളെ കൂടുതല്‍ ജനകീയമാക്കാനുമാണ് വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സംഗമങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുന്നത്. മലയാളത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ വിക്കി പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സംഗമം 2007 ഡിസംബര്‍ 30-ന് തൃശൂരാണ് നടന്നത്. രണ്ടാമത്തേത് 2008 ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 31-ന് ചാലക്കുടിയിലും മൂന്നാമത്തേത് 2010 ഏപ്രില്‍ 17-ന് കളമശ്ശേരിയിലും നടന്നു. മൂന്നാമത്തെ സംഗമത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയിലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത 500 ലേഖനങ്ങളുടെ സിഡിയും പുറത്തിറക്കിയിരുന്നു. -santhosh
