Hello,
unfortunately we have not received any replies after this thread. As I
understand it, there is some enthusiasm with individuals, but nobody
is prepared to take a lead, within or outside Wikimedia UK? Basically
what you need is two types of leadership:
1) someone to set up a primary structure on Wikipedia - basically a
Wikiproject - and motivates others to help out setting up the list
system (this is the most important and urgent job)
2) someone to do the real life part of the organization: organize a
brainstorm meeting, organize a meeting with the relevant authorities
to get the databases released if not yet available, to find sponsors,
set up a budget etc.
Any volunteers? I hope Wikimedia UK can pick up from here though ;-)
In fact something is supposed to be happening with the English Heritage
file of Scheduled Monuments, which is a free but awkward download. I'll
update this list when there is some actual news.

Do I understand correctly that you (and maybe more people) are currently
working on this? That would be great! It would be very helpful if that kind
of information could be shared, also internationally :) That way people know
who to approach if they want to help etc. You can share this kind of info
on
<https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikilovesmonuments>Thanks!
