I was particularly glad to come across
https://www.photolondon.org.uk/
today, because its information on old London photographers is very useful in researching images. I was wondering where it had got to.
There is more at
https://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/2826398369?profile=orig…
and an Internet Archive page at
https://archive.ph/JpEF3
Does anyone have contacts with the Museum of London or the original compilers? The individual photographer biographies now have IDs and Wikidata ought to be able to make use of those. The underlying research is important, and is there a way we can support that?
Charles
Dear all
This is just a reminder that Maryana Iskander and I are hosting a small
meetup over drinks on the roof terrace of Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre
from 2pm - 3.30pm on Friday 16th September (tomorrow).
Maryana is the CEO of the Wikimedia Foundation and around 20 - 25 other
Wikimedia Foundation staff will be there, along with a number of Wikimedia
UK staff and trustees.
*Volunteers, members and partners are extremely welcome at the event!*
The address is Coin Street Community Builders, 108 Stamford Street, London
SE1 9NH. The Centre is around five minutes walk from both Waterloo or
Blackfriars station (but you can see more information about getting there
on their website <https://coinstreet.org/about-us/contact-us>).
Cheers
Lucy

Many thanks for the update Katie :) I appreciate that I'm sounding like a
broken record, and for that I do wholeheartedly apologise!
Given the recent announcement of the 2022 UK Wikimedian of the year, I'm
not sure pointing people at https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/UK_Wikimedian
_of_the_Year_2022 is the best idea until this is resolved.
Could I at least get SSH access to the web server and make the changes I
suggested at https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Spam#LocalSettings.php — I'm
happy to sign whatever NDA/agreements necessary if my WMF staff ones don't
cut it?
These small changes should only take a few minutes and will give y'all some
breathing space to implement a more permanent solution.
Kind regards,
