Hi
The issue about a 1 Cr. grant from Karnataka government for Sanskrit wikipedia was brought up on this list earlier, last year.
I saw this recent discussion on Sanskrit Wikipedia between a couple of editors about that grant and support from Samskrita Bharati, have their been any new developments related to it?

Nice to know that, great news. And a small suggestion, while posting Indic language wiki links pls shorten then using websites like http://bit.ly or http://ow.ly , In fact bit.ly allows you to use your facebook/sign up and make customised links like bit.ly/odiawiki or such.
Subha

Heh...thanks.
The posts on this list are archived and indexed publicly, bit.ly and other link shortening services might just be an ephemera in social media world. Aside from the discussion of a WMF owned/supported link shortening service, I would much rather prefer to stick with the original links in line with established mailing-list etiquettes.
It's your choice to click on them. :)

I was involved in the discussion thread as well; I am in touch with the people from Samskrita Bharati. The last I heard from them was around 2 months ago, and they seemed to say that the grants are to be approved by the cabinet.
Since interest in this grant has renewed among editors, I will ask the representative from Samskrita Bharati for an update on this.
