Hi Chapter Members and Wikimedian Community,
As you might have known, Gautam K John, stepped down from the Chapter EC and Secretary's position recently. On behalf of Wikimedia India EC, I would like to thank Gautam for all his contributions in bootstrapping the Chapter for nearly three years. He has been great source of strength and wisdom to the EC specially over the last nine months, as Chapter raced to grow membership, conduct AGM and EC elections in a systematic manner.
As he is deeply committed to free culture projects including Wikimedia, the members and the community can always count on him for any support and advice.
We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Sincerely
Arjuna Rao Chavala
President, Wikimedia India

Thank you very much Arjuna. It has been a pleasure being associated with the Wikimedia community in India, learning much over the last three years and in building new friendships. I do hope I was able to provide something of value to the community and am happy that I had the privilege of knowing and working for all of you.
The Chapter is in safe hands. But never forget that the Chapter is only as active as its members and I would urge you all to become members and have a say in its future and directions.
Good luck!
Thank you.
Best,

Dear Gautam,
This is a double blow, first Pradeep, now you. Though I knew it was to come, but it still staggers one. Thank you for the good advice, steady support to me and Pune community, for all your contributions to WikiConference and most important thank you for standing by the Chapter through thick and thin. I trust our friendship and association will continue regardless of your changing course in life. I wish you success in all your endeavours and happy times. Lets have a drink together the next time we meet.
Warm regards,
Ashwin Baindur ------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for all you've done, Gautam - in one of the toughest phases of any
entity, from seed to legal to fledgling. And of course, you dealt with a lot of the nightmarish paperwork etc needed to get the chapter registered.
I assume and hope we will stay in touch, and that your exit from the EC does not also mean an exit from the wikimedia community.
Cheers Bishakha

Of course. I'm always around and available.
Thank you.

Thanks for all the great work Gautam. You have always been the voice of reason in most discussions I have seen, and I probably didn't even see half of it since we never had the chance to meet in person.
I hope you still remain vocal in the India community, your voice would be sorely missed from the chapter.
I wish you nothing but the best. May the wind always be at your back.....

I wanted to add my own personal note to thank Gautam for all he has done and for being Gautam - a wonderfully genuine, principled, friendly, action-oriented and smart-working person!
