Hello Wikimedains,
I have compiled the statistical information of the Indian language Wikipedias for the month of *2010 March*. The report is published at http://shijualex.wordpress.com/2010/04/25/indian-language-wikipedias-statistical-report-2010-march/ http://shijualex.wordpress.com/2010/04/25/indian-language-wikipedias-statist... .
Since the *2010 March dumps* for some of Indian Language Wikipediashttp://www.infodisiac.com/cgi-bin/WikimediaDownload.pl?#projectslike Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi, and so on are not yet available, the information (for some parameters) for those wikipedias are not included in this report. Hope the information will be available soon. But since it is already March 25, I do not want to wait until the information is available. I can include the updated information in the report for April month.
The PDF of the report is available at Indian language Wikipedias – Statistical report – 2010 Marchhttp://shijualex.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/2010_03_march_en.pdf

Hi Shiju,
Excellent and easy to understand summary. Thanks.
Kannada Wikipedia was one of the earliest Indian Wikipedias. Would like to know why the growth has declined there. (especially so much of wiki activity in Bangalore..)
Thanks, Ravi

Ravi, I think that question is best if answered by Hari [hpnadig]. He's an admin there and would be able to explain as such. Regards,

Hoi, I am a fan of statistics for all kinds of reasons and, putting the same data in all kinds of perspective is something I love most because it gives as many perspectives on the data. For your infomation, Erik Zachte has added a new set of functionality to his already impressive statistics. It shows the edits for one project and, it breaks it down in anonymous, registered, bot and ALL edits.
The format of the screen is standardised; http://stats.wikimedia.org/EN/PlotEditsML.png this is the Malayalam data and replace the ML with TA, NE, HI ... for another Wikipedia. Thanks. GerardM
PS I am studying those numbers so that I can blog about it :) http://ultimategerardm.blogspot.com :)

One of the interesting analysis from the above report. More than 90% of the page views from India is for English Wikipedia.

Shiju, the primary reason for that I'm assuming is the fact that most Indians are unaware of Indian language computing [NOT limiting it to Wiki]. Regards,
