Dear community members,
Change is the only constant.
I wanted to take a moment to depart from my usual communications to you, to share that 30 June 2023 will be my last day at the Wikimedia Foundation. The Movement Strategy & Governance (MSG) team stands dissolved.
The past two years have been a whirlwind journey & I continue to be amazed by the persistence, resilience, dedication, and kindness of our collective South Asian community. I have had the privilege of meeting and knowing many of you during WikiConference India 2023 and through online meetups.
Although my official role ends here, know that I will continue to remain your ally and advocate for community development. Let’s keep pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and making a difference together.
Best regards,
Chitraparna Sinha

Dear Chitra,
It is unfortunate to see you go this way. It has been more than a year since we came to know each other, and that we are alumni of the same seat of learning. Being someone who has been leading a thematic user group affiliate since July 2021, I have seen very few people in this movement who happen to be as much friendly and helpful as one could be, and you are one among those rare people. Your engagement with the movement has helped DCW reach a certain height, and you would always be a part of its history and legacy.
I have expressed it elsewhere that the way MSG team was dissolved was not very good. We are not aware of the reasons inside but I am pretty much confident to say that the wider South Asian movement has lost one of its important caretakers, someone who had the ability to hold the community together. Our movement experience will not be the same after June 30.
On behalf of the DCW fraternity, I request you to be with the South Asian movement and help it grow and prosper, which has of course been your vision and goal. You have been like a family member who wants the family prosper but it is not always seen that everyone from the family values this vision.
We look forward to your insightful and knowledgeable support in the future.
Best regards, Aafi (on behalf of the DCW)
Dear Chitraparna Ji,
Thank you for sharing this update with the community. I want to express my sincere gratitude for your dedication and contributions to the Wikimedia Foundation and the South Asian community during your time with the Movement Strategy Governance team.
Your passion, resilience, and commitment to community development have been truly inspiring. I am grateful for the opportunity to have met and collaborated with you during WikiConference India 2023 and online meetups.
Although your official role may be ending, I am delighted to hear that you will continue to be our ally and advocate. Your support means a lot to us, and I am confident that together, we can continue to push boundaries, break barriers, and make a positive difference.
Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors. If there is any way I can be of assistance or support, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Take care and once again, thank you for your incredible contributions. I am sharing one of the good memory pictures of you :) [image: image.png]
