Hey:
I was wondering is anyone here could offer some help to the Chapter to set up a system to process membership forms etc.
Essentially, what we need is:
1. A front end for the applicant enter form details. 2. A way to update these details with payment information, etc. as and when received. 2. A database to store that. 3. A way to generate a: 3.1 Receipt 3.2 Membership Number 3.3 Membership Card 3.4 Send an email when it is posted 3.5 A PDF of the form so entered for the applicant to sign and send. 4. Add the member to a mailing list 5. Send reminder email as and when necessary 6. It would be nice to have: 6.1 A way for members to update and edit their details as and when it changes 7. Open source software will be preferred.
Thank you.
Best,

Seems like CiviCRM is best suited for your needs in long term . You may need some customizations as well for 3.2- 3.5 http://civicrm.org/

Thanks, Anivar. Sadly, we don't really have the resources to hire anyone just yet so was hoping there might be people who could help us to do it their free time.
Thank you.

Hey All:
Just to say that Arnav Chaudhary came forward to help with a CiviCRM instance and to help customise it too.
A beta is here: http://74.117.238.2/~wiki/index.php?q=civicrm/contribute/transact&reset=...
Would be great if you could all play with it and enter test details (and an email address) and report back if it works as expected?
The original use cases are below.
Arnav - thank you so very much for stepping forward to help with this - much appreciated and many many thanks.
Thank you.

Hi,
It looks good. A couple of notes: Is it deliberate that only India can be selected as a country? If you click continue to confirm your details, there are two unnecessary date input boxes present. If you click to finish the transaction the site gives the following error: " Database Error Code: Table 'wiki_wiki.users' doesn't exist, 1146Additional Details: Array ( [callback] => Array ( [0] => CRM_Core_Error [1] => handle ) [code] => -18 [message] => DB Error: no such table [mode] => 16[debug_info] => SELECT uid FROM users where name = 'Bdamokos' [nativecode=1146 ** Table 'wiki_wiki.users' doesn't exist] [type] => DB_Error [user_info] => SELECT uid FROM users where name = 'Bdamokos' [nativecode=1146 ** Table 'wiki_wiki.users' doesn't exist] [to_string] => [db_error: message="DB Error: no such table" code=-18 mode=callback callback=CRM_Core_Error::handle prefix="" info="SELECT uid FROM users where name = 'Bdamokos' [nativecode=1146 ** Table 'wiki_wiki.users' doesn't exist]"] )
" ; indicating some problem with the database set up.
Anyhow, I got an e-mail that my Drupal registration went through, so regardless of the error, the site seems to work to some degree.
I hope the above results help in any way, I know from experience that Civi can be a pain...
Best regards, Bence

Is it deliberate that only India can be selected as a country?
Sadly, yes - our terms of registration allow only 'Indian' members.
If you click continue to confirm your details, there are two unnecessary date input boxes present.
Noted.
If you click to finish the transaction the site gives the following error:
Yeah - it's still a work in progress - the front end is kinda done.

Feature already there.
Just needs some refinement.
You will be sent an Email after completing the form which includes all the data filled and that can be signed and sent back.

Same is the case with me. I would like to see a report writer with pdf support which can generate pdf file with user details and additional text in the application form that can be mailed to the user (as given in pdf membership form) for sending the hard copy after signing to chapter office.

Would be great if you could all play with it and enter test details (and an email address) and report back if it works as expected?
The original use cases are below.
Arnav - thank you so very much for stepping forward to help with this
- much appreciated and many many thanks.
Thank you.

Hey:
I was wondering is anyone here could offer some help to the Chapter
to
set up a system to process membership forms etc.
Essentially, what we need is:
- A front end for the applicant enter form details.
- A way to update these details with payment information, etc. as
and
when received. It would be nice to have: 6.1 A way for members to update and edit their details as and when
it changes
- Open source software will be preferred.
Thank you.
