Dear friends,
I would like to welcome Pratik Lahoti or User:BPositive to the fold of people in charge of doing things in Wikipedia. BPositive is a young member (in comparison to me :)) of Pune community and Wikipedia Pune Club. He was an active Campus Ambassador in the first version of India Education Program. Energetic and enthusiastic BPositive is taking charge of the India Collaboration of the Month (INCOTM) process and is the first person to volunteer to help me keep WikiProject India active by taking on a specific responsibility.
All the best BPositive and hope you have a great time doing things new to you till now!
I request the wider India community to welcome and support BPositive as he guides us on our monthly INCOTMs.

That's great! So good to see more people sharing responsibilities and taking ownership of projects in Wikipedia. I wish you all the best Pratik! I'm sure you'll learn a lot while leading this project.
And a great "thank you" to Ashwin who has been indefatigable watching out on several WikiProjects, co-ordintaing offline Wikipedia project, handholding newbies, guiding all the Campus Ambassadors, leading GA master class, encouraging everyone to join WikiProject India and the list goes on and on and on. Thank you so very much Ashwin! :-)

Nitika, The term ownership doesn't exist here. Yes, while I welcome BPositive and hope that he helps us increase the Quality of Indian articles, I really don't like this Ownership thing people talk about.

Oh, I am under no apprehensions about ownership of WikiProject India. I am only a volunteer who tends to it as SIG chair on being requested by some colleagues. So it is my something in my care - a trust belonging to the people in which I look after something which belongs to all.
Ownership here can only mean the feeling that Wikipedia "belongs" to all of us and because of that it is inherently good and desirable of us to work for it - not that I "own" this or that article. When you "own" something you care about it and work for it. I am sure that is what is meant by Nitika.

Thanks for the heads up Parakara Ghoda, I'm sure Nitika will be careful about using this term.
On the other hand, when it comes to doing things especially where responsibility is concerned, we do find that few people come forward to volunteer and "own" a process or responsibility. We saw that at WikiConference 2011 and we see it even now in the community. We'd love that people feel more involved to as to wish to play greater organisational roles.
As has BPositive in taking over a responsibility, a mature and responsible act in my view :).
There are literally hundreds of little roles which can be defined which can help the community grow.
I'd love to see people feel Wikipedia was their "own" rather than feel that the "other guy" should take over the more onerous tasks.
Warm regards,
Ashwin Baindur

Thank you all for the warm welcome. :) I really look forward to working with you all on this project.
As far the term "ownership" is concerned, I don't think Nitika literally meaned it. I am just a volunteer and helping out AshLin as he is overloaded with work. :)
