Junaid has already (partially)* extended* this solution to Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, and Bhojpuri wikipedias. You can see the respective wikipedias to see the Transliteration solution developed by Junaid working there.
Among these Sanskrit wikipedia (http://sa.wikipedia.org) has the best Devanagri transliteration solution since many people cooperated with Junaid for its testing.
But currently *only Transliteration* solution is available in those wikipedias. Rest of the solutions (for example, inscript) need to developed. Junaid is working on it.
A transliteration solution is already available in *Kannada* and *Telugu*wikipedias. But it is not advanced as the one developed by Junaid. If the respective language communities cooperate with the testing (of the respective script) we can easily extend it to other Indian languages.
Thanks Shiju

Hi,
We are glad to inform that inbuilt Tamil typing tool has been added in
Tamil
Wikipedia and Tamil WikiNews. After some testing, we will add it in
other
Wikimedia projects and release the code for use in all sites using MediaWiki.
We hope that this will help many first time editors and increase Tamil
word
searches in the site search box.
This was possible as a follow up of the recent Chennai Wikimedia meetup
when
Malayalam Wikimedia user Shiju Alex urged us to have this tool. Then Malayalam Wikimedia user Junaid. P. V. joined the team to transfer the
code
from Malayalam Wiki and modified it for Tamil needs. All work done in a
week
and three cheers for the interwiki collaborative spirit of Malayalam Wikipedians.
It is natural to go greedy! Can we extend this to other Indian languages as well. What is the nature of the effort involved say to extend this to Telugu, kannada, Hindi etc.
