Seeing the recent state of affairs wrt Internet and information, I think the Government of India WOULD want to create a 'new' Urdu project where they CAN have control over what goes on and what doesn't.

Why don't they just fork the existing Urdu Wikipedia and fix it? Makes no sense to throw it *all* out. Then again, the Government oh so does love reinventing the wheel.
