Hi Tinu:
Thanks for posting this - yes, legal counsel and a risk assessment is something we are actively looking at doing - a question, would the community know if this has ever happened or threatened to happen earlier or is this the first example?
Thank you.
Best,

Here you go ! The first legal threaten against Wikipedia India !
To set the context to those who were not reading the thread of WikimediaIndia facebook page,
Basavaraj Itnal [1] is a senior journalist from Bangalore. He is in a campaign against an alleged land-grabbing and scam by a popular mall owner in Bangalore. He did write articles on this in the publications he is associated with. He even added information earlier to Wikipedia article of Garuda Mall [2] and apparently was blocked once ( by an Indian admin with a pseudo name ? ) . He also attended one of the Bangalore Wiki-meetups recently. After that he shifted to focus to fight his POV to Wikimedia India Facebook recently. [3] and also pushing it on the article [4] . Of late he is threatening to sue Wikipedia and Wikimedia admins. Knowing his aggressiveness, i don't think he can be taken lightly.
I am not sure whether he is intending to sue against the Wikimedia Foundation, ( office in India ) or India chapter or individuals from India who are admins ( OMG, that includes me :) )
Time for a legal contact in India ?
Thoughts?
Regards Tinu Cherian
P.S.I couldn't find the contact mail id of Geoffrey Brigham, the new legal counsel of the Foundation.
