Hoi, You create a profile, under editing in the Preferences you select "Special toolbox". You enter the beta part of this environment.
The Special characters is for people like myself who occaisonally need to enter something in another script. I do not have a keyboard available in your script, I could install it but I would not know where the characters are. Thanks, GerardM

I tried and found it better. I could not find a way to enter special characters in any of the advanced menu topics. Can someone guide and also advise, what is the main purpose of these special characters If the objective is occasional data entry. there may be limited use for Indian scripts, as the keyboard usually supports all characters.
Regards Arjun

Hoi, The MediaWiki developers are working on the advanced toolbos that is part of the usability initiative. At the moment there is support for several scripts ... but not for any of the scripts used in the Indic languages. This is a good moment to consider how your scripts can be supported..

This is where you can find the scripts currently supported in the "special characters" part of the beta part of this wiki. You may have to create yourself a profile and enable the advanced toolbox in the user preferences. NB also vector is the skin of choice.. Thanks, GerardM
