Hello, Wiki Loves Butterfly (WLB) Team has participated and co-organised the National level Namdapha Butterfly Meet 2020 held at Miao, Arunachal Pradesh from 5th-8th March 2020 along with Society for Education and Environmental Development (SEED). In the said event, we have put up a stall of Wiki Loves Butterfly supported by West Bengal Wikimedians User Group aiming at broad outreach as well as workshop on wikipedia and wiki contribution. SO are we! The Learning & Evaluation team is pleased to announce the launch of the Wikimedia Affiliates Data (WAD) Portal [1]. This portal will serve three purposes as follows: 1. It introduces a new Object-Oriented User Interface (OOUI) [3] form-based report submission interface for annual activity and financial reports. This replaces the wiki mark-up based submission via the [[Reports]] page on meta. 2. It introduces the ability for Organizations to update their information using OOUI forms on the fly. 3. It introduces a new simple data query form that allows anyone logged-in to their public wiki accounts to run a query and view results on available Affiliates data. The query tool will be improved in the coming financial year, as we work to code data in Affiliate reports into structured data, to allow for richer analysis. All organizations that are due to submit annual reports at the end of March are encouraged to use the new report submission forms. Rapid grant reported of West Bengal Wikimedians User Group submitted

Hi all, This is for your information, that we have submitted the rapid grant report of West Bengal Wikimedians User Group few hours back. The grant was requested to conduct the user group activities for a whole year. The grant proposal is here - https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/WBG/Annual_Plan_2019-20 The report is here - https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/WBG/Annual_Plan_2019-2… We have spent just around 1 lakh 8 thousand rupees for our whole year activity and we still have around Rs. 33,000 with us which are still not spent due to various reasons. We have requested rapid grants team to use that money for our future activities. This year, before asking for rapid grants, we asked the community members to come up with the projects, which they want to execute and need support. It was a bottom-up decentralized approach in a mini-scale and we can say, it went well. We learned a lot while exploring this approach and we will try to make it better next time. The user group has been working on documenting under-represented and previously undocumented cultural and structural heritage for last 3 years in an organized way. This year, our major spending was around Rs. 70,000 to document around 272 heritage structures in 5 districts of West Bengal through our Wiki Exploration Program. Other than that, we have spent money on 1 Wiki Takes, 1 Documenting City Heritage, 5 meetups including AGM of the user group, 1 workshop, 1 unofficial GLAM and content donation of 1 author. Prizes for Rabindranath Month Proofreading Contest on Bengali Wikisource and Wiki Loves Monuments were taken care by CIS-A2K, so that didn't came under Rapid Grant. This year, we couldn't work on documenting museums, for next year there are plans already. Like before, we have tried to do effective projects optimally with our limited resources. The user group was very meticulous in planning the projects keeping in mind about the value of donation money, involving community members of the West Bengal who actively participated in every steps. Needless to say, as always, we didn't compromise on participant safety and comfort, without over-spending a single rupee for luxury. We have also maintained utmost transparency, as previous years. WikiCite Satellite Conference India 2020

Hello everyone, With great pleasure, we would like to invite you to the WikiCite Satellite Event hosted by the Open Heritage Foundation in New Delhi on April 18,19 2020. Wikicite is a Wikimedia event to develop open citations and linked bibliographic data to serve free knowledge. The Wikimedia community and the GLAM institutions need to understand the dynamics of open bibliographic data better and how it can be scaled proactively with Wikimedia projects and other open-source platforms that are involved in open data. This event will be aimed at addressing the prevalent gap between Wikidata and Wikisource integration for works and their consecutive items. The format and structure of the event would have open calls for collaborators/presenters/participants. The event will be of 2 days and the attendance would be around 15-25 people, including, the stakeholders working with GLAM institutions, Wikisourcers, and Wikidatans interested in bibliographical data. The scholarships and registrations are open from February 26, 2020 and close on March 15, 2020. We also invite the community members to submit proposals for sessions. The date for submissions starts from February 26, 2020 and close on March 11, 2020. The submissions will be taken into account for prioritizing the candidates for scholarships. We look forward to welcoming you to New Delhi in April with the collaborative spirit of this year’s Wikimania theme ‘Sharing knowledge brings people together’ and ‘Power of Diverse Collaboration’. Help in updating the US trade deficit svg and data

Hi all, Please CC me if somebody answers as I don't want the answer to be lost in the noise. I have been editing and updating the U.S. trade deficit which can be seen at [1] . The data is being copied by hand and updated to 2019 [2] from [3] 2015. The source data is at [4] . I would probably update till [I] for India because I think Mr. Trump is wrong in the statements that he has made vis-a-vis India. Even the 2015 figures prove it and the 2019 figures will also probably prove the same as our exports for the last 4-5 years have been the same. Besides that, I dunno whom to approach as in [4] Ethiopia comes up at two times and both the figures are different in the source data. See [5] and [6] . Can somebody help to fix the cocundrum ? How to see if there is some content on the talk page of any wikipage?

Hello all, When we are browsing wikipedia or wikisource pages, how can we know that there are some content or discussion on the talk page, so that we can check them too. As a normal user, we have to click the talk page and check it. If there is no discussion, it takes to talk page creation. It will be good, if there are some visual identification, to inform that there are some content on talk page. Is there such a setting available already?
