Hello everyone,
Very excited to share *Wiki Loves Museums India 2022* with you all.
This campaign
<https://streaklinks.com/BKEoy2er6-sFds5QvA2NEJkE/http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2Fwiki…>
invites everyone to participate in making India's cultural treasures and
museum collections visible on the internet, through a Wiki-Commons upload
contest. The contest is open from *August 16 - September 30, 2022* to all
residents of India.
Later in September-October, we'd also be opening a Fellowship call
(especially for those with Wiki experience) to contribute in making
educational resources. The fellowship will also include Wikidata-related
work etc.
We'd love to have your involvement and support.
A special thank you to Krishna Chaitanya Velaga & Satdeep Gill for helping
us with the WikiCommons Campaign page
<https://streaklinks.com/BKEoy2uzs8lbfl2N_Q5iziEx/https%3A%2F%2Fcommons.wiki…>
and Aarya Joshi & Tanveer Hasan for their invaluable inputs during the
planning / grant-making stage.
My colleague & fellow Wikipedian Arunesh (DesiBoy101) and I (Medhavigandhi)
are still working on the campaign page this week. If you have any
inputs/feedback, we look forward to hearing from you.
Meanwhile, we are excited to have our first shout-out by Mumbai's Midday
Dossier.
Trust you will help us spread the word about the campaign.
On behalf of Medhavi Gandhi
- Satdeep Gill

Hello,
I am not sure whether I am posting this in the correct way.
The article Darjeeling is going to be featured on the Main Page of English
Wikipedia on 15 August. The article has underwent (and, technically
speaking, still undergoing) Featured Article review, but essentially is
ready for Main Page appearance. The incredible amount of work done,
primarily by User:Fowler&fowler is monumental.
Darjeeling, as of now, probably is the best city article among Indian
cities, and certainly a contender for best article of all cities! Please
have a look at the article on 15 August.
Thanks!
Regards.

*Introducing the Wikimedia Foundation’s 2023 Annual Plan*
<https://diff.wikimedia.org/2022/07/26/introducing-the-wikimedia-foundations…>
Each year, the Wikimedia Foundation shares an annual plan of its priorities
and activities for the fiscal year, which currently runs from *July 2022 to
June 2023*. The Foundation’s current Annual Plan is now anchored in the two
strategic pillars of our movement strategy: *“knowledge equity”* and
“*knowledge
as a service*” and the *Annual Plan*
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia_Foundation_Ann…>
is
centered around four main goals.
The process of identifying these goals also included a month of feedback
and ‘two-way planning’ with Foundation staff and volunteers. There were
over *12,000* pageviews of the draft plan on Meta-wiki (4x increase from
last year) with *30+* contributors engaging on the talk page. Over *750*
community members from all regions of the world (including South Asia) were
reached through conversations that included multilingual support in *15*
languages.
You can find an appendix of the feedback we received
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia_Foundation_Ann…>
in the final plan. This document is a starting point for what will be a
highly iterative process of doing and learning in the months ahead. We
invite your reflections and questions at any time on Meta.
