Dear Friends, This is in continuation to the below mail from Noopur and to give it a better perspective. CIS-A2K has given a small consultancy to Sajjad Anwar and Sumandro Chattopadhyay towards visualisation of the rich data offered by the Indic Wikipedia eco-system. As part of this assignment they are expected to build static visualizations (that visualises a static/unchanging set of data extracted from Indian language Wikipedia sites). The blog post link given by Noopur below is the first of our attempt to share with you all the initial set of visualizations. We believe this will be a useful tool for the Indian Wikimedia community. Dear all, Here is the link to the blog post by Sajjad Anwar and Sumandro Chattopadhyay on the visualization of the growth of Indic Wikipedias: http://cis-india.org/openness/blog/indic-wikipedia-visualisation-project-vi… The data obtained is for the period from January 2001 to December 2012 and has been visualized into motion charts and calendar charts. The parameters used have also been listed chart wise. He uses most of his spare time for writing detailed articles about Malaysia and Tamils in Malaysia. He is so involved in Wikipedia that once he personally visited the grave of a personality to write an article on him ! Few weeks back, he was arrested by the Malaysian police on a case that challenged his freedom of expression for an article he wrote in a magazine (just to make it clear that he didn't create a real "crime" to land in prison). He was out of the prison in couple of days. What touched me a lot was that he provided an update in his wiki user page that he is in prison and that he will be back soon! He used the laptop of his grand daughter who visited him in the prison and made this edit under the supervision of the prison guards ! He sees his contributions to Wikipedia as his lifetime work beyond the search for survival and wealth. He calls his 12 year old grand daughter as his inspiration to keep writing in Wikipedia. ചെക്ക് യൂസറിനെ എല്ലാവരും കൈവിട്ടോ?

നയരൂപീകരണത്തിൽ മൂന്നു ചർച്ചകൾ (ഒന്ന്, രണ്ട്, മൂന്ന്) ചെക്ക് യൂസർ സംവിധാനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടത് കിടപ്പുണ്ട്. രണ്ടെണ്ണം വളരെ പഴയതാണ്. ഇതിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ തീരുമാനമെടുക്കേണ്ടതാണ് ഏറ്റവും ആവശ്യം. സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ ശരിയായിക്കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ പഴയ വോട്ടെടുപ്പ് തുടങ്ങാവുന്നതാണ് (അതിനനുകൂലമായ സമവായമുണ്ട്). നയത്തിൽ ആർബ്കോം സംബന്ധിച്ച കാര്യത്തിൽ നമുക്ക് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ നിന്ന് മാറ്റങ്ങൾ ആവശ്യമാണ്. പഞ്ചായത്തിനോടും നയരൂപീകരണത്തോടും തന്നെ താല്പര്യം നശിച്ചതാണോ ഈ ഉഷാറില്ലായ്മയുടെ കാരണം? അജയ്
