In theory they are fine. See:

Faxed signatures on the other hand are on far iffier ground as well as
their forgeability. I would suggest that we do not allow them. To my
mind fax technology is completely outdated and should be consigned to
the history books along with telegraphs and telexs. I can't forsee
anyone involved in the organisation not having access to a computer
for electronic signatures.
