I let him (Sam) know what's happening.

The bid page on meta was moved from the unofficial to an official bid in
the
format the others use (Wikimania 2008/Bids/XX) but this was reverted by Aphaia ("revert; unless you are the bidding team, you are better to
leave
it: only official bids should be there") - what is "the bidding team"?
Do
people have to commit to something, is it Wikimedia UK? Needs sorting urgently else we can't enter - deadline *tomorrow* people, as in, under
24
hours...
I was also confused by this - I think, however, it's simply that the person who moved the page (Majorly) is not listed under the bidding or local team. I'd say if you list yourself as one of the team, there would be no problem with making the bid "official".
I received a reply from a professor at UCL who Sam organised it with
last
year and they are "keen". I'll continue contact with him.
I'm not sure if Sam is subscribed to this list - which was why I copied him in yesterday. I suggest you keep him in the loop.
