Does anyone have any comments in regards to moving the QRPedia source code
to Git and thus Github rather than google code here it is currently located?
https://code.google.com/p/qrwp/
In my opinion this would give the code and the source side of the project
greater visibility and likely greater participation / poking at the code.
I would propose making a 'wmuk' github organisation and within a 'qrpedia'
repo!
This org could then nicely collect any other bits of code that are lying
around the place!
Addshore
It seems to me taht teh tardemark policy:
https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Trademark_policy
Now allows for the use of Wikimedia logos, partilaulry tthe Wikiepdia
globe, on QRpedia plaques. I quote:
You have the right to use marks to:
* Create artistic, literary, and political works; or
* Link to Wikimedia sites.
[...]]
This policy also allows you to use marks [...] when you:
* Do outreach and recruit new editors; or
* Place marks on t-shirts, cakes, and other things
without selling them.
Does anyone disagree with this interpretation? If not,
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/QRpedia
and:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:QRHowTo
(and possibly other pages) will need to be updated; I'll be happy to do so.

Hi,
I have not played around with en.wp infoboxes for yonks. Would anyone
care to run through the list at
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Kings_College_London_Wikipedia_editing_worksh…>
and do a little bit of an informal review/copyedit and add infoboxes
where appropriate?
King's College has been kind enough to officially release portraits
for all of them, which I have now included, so the articles are
instantly more attractive.
Thanks,
Fae

Hello everyone,
While Wikimania is still four months away, I'm making a start on drawing up
a list of things to include in delegate packs. I'm thinking not just things
like the conference programme, but things like emergency contact details,
guides to using the public transport network, places to eat etc. But
there's scope for imagination and creativity.
What kind of materials would you like to see included in a perfect world?
I know this seems early but if we want to have new materials for the
conference we need to start creating them soon.
All input gratefully received, either on this list or on the UK wiki here -
https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Water_cooler#Wikimania_delegate_packs
Thank very much,
Stevie

Hi,
I'm short of helpers for this event for new editors. Over 40 attendees
are booked, about a 50/50 mix of people from the Royal Society email
and Twitter feeds and WMUK donors. The whole event lasts from 2-9pm,
but the key periods for helpers are about 2.45-5.20 and 6.60-9.00 pm,
when they are all actually editing. An extra hand at any parts of these
periods would be very useful, just helping new editors who get stuck on
their first edits. No special Train the Trainers etc experience
needed; any regular Wikipedia editor would be fine.
If you can make it, please sign up at the event page on Wikipedia
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Royal_Society/Diversity…>.
Nice cake & sandwiches, and we will go for a drink after.
Alternatively, if you can think of any other Wikipedians who might be
able to do it, please pass on, or let me have your suggestions.
WMUK can pay travel expenses, but please check with me if they would be
over £25.

Hello everyone,
I'm aware that asking this question here may just cause my inbox to melt...
I recently met with the organiser of a sci-fi film festival. As a part of
the festival they have a big convention which is, I think, being held at
the ExCel arena this year in London.
It's early days but we're exploring the possibility of Wikimedia UK doing
something within the convention. There will be lots of writers there, and
sci-fi film folk. There's lots of scope for things, such as getting photos
and sound files for Commons, editing training, an editathon... there's lots
of potential.
If anyone is interested in meeting with the convention / festival organiser
do let me know and we'll see if we can set something up.
Thank you,
Stevie

Are there any plans for WMUK to offer or coordinate training for
(potential) users of the GLAM toolset?

I've raised a question on Commons, about performers; ruiights in
reoding of church bells:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump#Church_bells
I'm no expert, but AIUI, the UK style of bell ringing is different
from that elsewhere in the world. I hope our ability to upload
recordings of church bells will not be encumbered by the need to get
clearance from each bell ringer.
Can anyone comment, with any authority, on such matters?

To help with a project proposal I'm putting together, it would be
useful to have copies of UK Wikipedians in Residence's job
descriptions - are any available online, or can anyone share their
copies please? Also salaries, if advertised publicly.
