Section 9 gives the dates when various reports should be provided:
1 November 2012 - Proposed methodology and project plan
1 December 2012 - Description and Chronology
1 January 2013 - Interim report
31 January 2013 (target), 15 February 2013 (deadline) - Final report
The first three of those should therefore be available now. Can
someone please tell me where I can find them, or explain why they are
not yet available?
Jon said on the wiki on 9 January 2013 that the Interim report was
expected to be published "any day now"...
*QRpedia - the current position.*
There is some interest on where we are with QRpedia and much speculation. I
wanted to respond as I take the interest seriously.
WMUK is currently negotiating in good faith with Roger Bamkin and his
colleague Terence Eden with regard to ownership of QRpedia.
This has been a complicated process and is ongoing.
After several attempts to reach agreement the board of WMUK has entrusted
negotiations to Saad Choudri, a trustee who is a practising copyright
lawyer. He has been reporting regularly to me, and the board, as to the
negotiations.
I can understand that our community may feel that this is a process that
has continued for far too long and I'm sure everyone involved would agree
with this.
However I do not think an acceptable agreement will come any more quickly
if we rehearse the many and complicated arguments on this list.
What I can assure you is that the trustees understand the need to reach an
agreement soon or disassociate the charity from any involvement in QRpedia.
We will let the community know as soon as we have something to report.
Jon.

- Subject: Seeking panellists for a women in technology event!
The third Tech Talkfest event is taking place at 6.30pm on Monday 25th
February at Shoreditch House, London. The theme is 'Women in Technology and
Gaming' and they are currently seeking one more panelist.
You would be part of a four person panel. They would like you to give a 10
minute talk on stories and tips from your career that would be helpful to
people who want to achieve what you have. This could include things you
learnt that helped to turn your career around, challenges that seemed
insurmountable that you overcame, ways that you dealt with common issues
(managing childcare/maternity, gaining skills in a new area, how to present
yourself for promotion/interview) or anything else that you think is useful.
Each panellist will speak for 10 minutes and then they will open it to the
floor for questions. The total length will be 60 minutes. You could stay
for networking later.
They're looking for two more successful women in working technology or
gaming, preferably in startups or small companies.
More info about the event can be found here:
http://www.techtalkfest.com/next-event.html
Let me know if you can do it, otherwise I should be able to attend if
needed.
Best,
Daria

Hello everyone,
I've just published the Wikimedia UK activity report for December, which
was a shortened month for the office due to the winter break. You can find
the report at http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Reports/2012/December
For those of you who prefer plain text, this is below.
Thanks and regards,
Stevie
Reports/2012/December
Below is the Wikimedia UK monthly report for the period 1 to 31 December
2012. If you want to keep up with the chapter's activities as they happen,
please subscribe to our blog, join a UK mailing list, and/or follow us on
Twitter. If you have any questions or comments, please drop us a line on
this report's talk page.
Community
The office hosted a shared lunch in December for staff and volunteers.
Everyone who came brought some food and drink along and we spent some time
enjoying each other's company and getting to know each other a little. A
very pleasant and useful afternoon!
GLAM activities
Wikimedians in Residence program resulting from our November 2012
recruitment has been progressing with Wikimedia UK in negotiations with the
institutions taken forward. We are working with Natural History Museum and
Science Museum, National Library of Scotland, Black Cultural Archives in
cooperation with Equiano Centre, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.
Technology
During December we spent time setting up the new infrastructure and began
migrating Wikimedia UK properties. For example, the board, office and other
private Wikis were moved to a new server - and preparations were made to
move Civi CRM and email in the new year.
Other activities
Microgrants
Information about microgrants that are currently running, and how to submit
a microgrant application of your own, are at Microgrants/Applications.

News from the Chief Exec
For information on Jon's activities this month, see News from the Office.
Communications
Links to December's press coverage can be found higher up this page.
In general December was a fairly quiet month for Wikimedia UK
communications. In part this is because the chapter didn't participate
directly in the Wikimedia Foundation annual fundraising campaign. It was
also a short month in terms of office activity as the winter break began on
22 December.
There were interesting blog posts on the first stage implementation of the
new visual editing tool for Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons reaching the
landmark of hosting 15 million files and a Manchester Girl Geeks editing
event. Also covered by the blog were a training session for editors in
Stanford and an update on the Communications Data Bill.
We experimented a little with video this month, using the festive season as
an opportunity to record a message from staff to the community, accompanied
by a written message from Jon. This was well received so we'll be looking
to try out more video in the future. Also in keeping with the festive
season we designed and distributed some festive e-cards, which we hope you
enjoyed.
A loose framework has been created for this year's Annual Review. You can
see the top level page here. Each section breaks down into its own page.
Please do get involved in helping to shape this report and all content
contributions are welcome.
In more general terms Stevie has been trying to build networks and
relationships with organisations that share our broad objectives. During
December he met with Creative Commons, attended a Google-hosted event
called Interactivism and met with the Shoreditch Network. This work carries
over into January.
Fundraising and Membership
Fundraising
This month, we received £13,128.78 in one-off donations, with 49 individual
donations, of which 3 were defined as major gifts (over £1000). Removing
those from consideration, the average donation amount was £39.69 - 75% of
these donors have had Gift Aid Declarations made and matched with their
records. If anyone would like a full (but anonymised) csv file with more
information, please get in touch with katherine.bavage(a)wikimedia.org.uk and
let her know your requirements.
There were 5,783 successful direct debits this month, bringing in a total
of £23,817.37.
Membership
Up to 31st December 2012:
138 new (membership commenced in preceding three months) and current
members.
123 'grace' members (membership within six months after date membership
should be renewed)
This adds up to 261 members who are eligible to vote
124 Expired members
A reminder was sent to all members in the January 2013 members newsletter
to renew their membership. Results of this will be included in the January
2013 monthly report.

Hi folks,
I've been keen to establish a meetup in the East Midlands for a while (the only one anywhere in the Midlands at the moment is in Coventry), and since we're holding WikiConference UK 2013 in Lincoln, now would seem like the time to get something going.
To that end, I'm looking for some input. I'm considering putting it in Derby, Nottingham, or Lincoln (Derby because it has the best transport links, Nottingham because it's the biggest city in the region, and Lincoln because that's where the AGM is; I ruled out Leicester due to its proximity to Coventry), so if you would consider coming to a meetup in this area and you have a preference for any of those three cities, I want to hear it. :)
Thanks,
Harry Mitchell

All,
As you might know, me and a volunteer were tellers at the last AGM, and the
EGM before that. The next AGM is approaching... so I've asked a few
questions about hustings at the AGM at
http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:WikiConference_UK_2013#Hustings. Mostly
it's about length of speeches, questions, etc. Essentially, I'd like to see
more time towards questioning candidates, and more time for speeches, and I
want to see if you agree.
Please comment on the talk page if you get a chance - but *time is of the
essence*, as the conference committee need to plan the rest of the day. As
always, if you don't want to comment in public, drop me an email in
private, or catch me on Google Talk, or give me a ring on the below number.
All the best,
Richard Symonds
