Why have WP:HRT used in this way at all? Just make the template
namespace subject to FlaggedRevs. Then you're looking more at protecting
templates so widely used that changes will have a cache-update hit.
That's a performance-driven decision, not a 'political' one

I've stuck it up as a proposal on that page; considering I managed to
spot quite a bit of gross incivility in the discussion, I'll wait and
see when I've a burning bag of shog-dite on my doorstep. :P

I'm not sure on that. But, it's actually Lèse majesté. Which, in

Not difficult at all.
On Template:NPG name
Vandalising IP: 188.28.135.246 rDNS: 188.28.135.246 is
188.28.135.246.threembb.co.uk
Vandalism Timestamp: 12:44, 2 June 2012 (UTC).
So the vandal either did this with a smartphone, or some other three
mobile 3G device (dongle, tablet, 3G-enabled laptop).
Checkuser will 'out' the browser ID, and that can be handed to
abuse(a)threembb.co.uk as a complaint about the user in question.
I'd be tempted to back it up with rough stats on how many people this
individual shocked/offended in the time that, and other, templates were
vandalised (for NPG name, about 2 minutes.

Having experience with FlaggedRevs on Wikinews, I can't believe the same
mechanisms are _not_ in use around the main page and FAs.
Anyone can come along and vandalise absolutely any of the lead articles
on the English Wikinews main page. But unregistered users will never be
presented with the vandalism.

I shall be in Glasgow, with free time on the afternoon of 19 and
daytime of 20 June. I hope to visit a couple of museums, and perhaps
talk to their staff about GLAM & QRpedia. Obviously, I don't want to
tread on the toes of anyone already working in that area - do we have
anyone already doing so?
Otherwise, does anyone have any useful GLAM contacts there? Or just
want to meet for coffee?
On the evening of the 20th, shall be at this event, also in Glasgow:
http://tartantweeple.wordpress.com/2012/06/05/protecting-you-social-media-a…
Discussing social media in local government, should any of you wish to
attend, or follow online.

Looks like I might be 'out of the country' for this. No hard-and-fast
dates for work sending me to New Jersey and St Louis but this is being
talked about as end of June/start of July.

Dear All,
Physiological Society is having an annual conference on 3-5 July in *
Edinburgh*. They are giving Wikipedia a slot on *Monday 2 July 4-6pm*. They
would like to have an introductory
presentation and some examples of how articles have been edited to show to
the attendees of the conference. It would be a presentation more than a
workshop because of the time constraints. The idea is to use this session
to promote an actual training event to happen later on in the year in
London and make attendees feel confident to make small edits and
corrections to articles. The projected attendance for this presentation is
quite small (10 people max).
Brian McNeil is potentially doing the presentation, but is there anybody
else interested in case he is unavailable? Due to the location and the
small scale of the event this would be a good opportunity for somebody with
easy transport links to Edinburgh.
Please do let me know if you are interested.
Best,
Daria
