Updates
I have been to the event page (which I encourage all to also do) and advise Wikimedia Ghana attends as participants and observers. The event organiser(s) is not aware we exist as a group and also don't seem to be aware that outreaches are being conducted in Ghana by us. They only know of Rex & Sandister as Wikipedians in Ghana but really do not have an indept knowlege of our activities as a group. Since this event intends to out souvenirs, here is what is advised we do:
My take
We are not partners of this event. I therefore think our members should be given T shirts to wear to the event instead rather than giving out our stuff over there.
Those attending will be encouraged to please carry themselves as participants and representatives of PWMGH and keenly observe as we are going to count on their feedback/reports
What say ye people, reaching a consensus sooner is going to help us decide earlier how we intend to participate in this event.

By saying "event page" you're referring to Barcamp Tema page?

They can't afford that distraction guys, they'll be sending us all reports eventually.
So if the effort to transmit a live feed fails I say we don't burden ourselves with that.

I like what's been discussed but I think it's imperative we come as a partner.
We can offer them promotion on social media and bring relevant people to their event. Kwaku and his crew might do this again, and with us on board, they will be better prepared.

Well the event is in days. I have sent the gentleman an email. I cc ed you all yesterday unless you didn't get it.
I did my checks on him before I told the execs about him. Based on what I know, I didn't ask for partnership, I offered help if he needs any.
He hasn't replied.
Attendees on behalf of PWMGH should be given T-shirts and go as observers unless he wants more than that.

Dear all,
I agree with Sandister, we can't partner with someone when we don't know what they have on the table, we've done our bit to reach out (responded to email) and are even sending observers (a party from wikiGH) too.
I think it's a little awkward for this event not to have found anything about our existence online or for even the Kofi Annan center in Accra not to have alerted them of us based on our past dealings with the latter via Dorothy.
My resolve is to stick to initial plan and have us go and see what they are about and how we can marry our ideas with theirs if needs be. Then based on the reports of our attendees we can move on to decide whether to hopefully forge a partnership.
Like Ato said: "we have nothing to loose", so why not go observe and let's leave time to reveal the rest for all of us to see?
