Subject: [Strategy] Endorsement of the strategic direction on October 26
Cc: "John Morrison" <jmorrison(a)wikimedia.org>
I am writing you in my capacity as the strategy track lead for
organized groups. In the previous weeks and months I have directly
reached out to the affiliates and other groups in our movement. To
make sure that everyone has the information they need for the upcoming
endorsement, I am now extending my outreach effort to this list.
Please feel free to share this information with your peers and
== Endorse the strategic direction on October 26 ==
On October 26, all constituents of the Wikimedia movement (affiliates,
groups, WMF and individual contributors) are invited to express their
support and commitment to the new strategic direction. By adding
their signature to the endorsement page on Meta, everyone declares
their intent to work together towards this future. And although we
would like to use this day to create a sense of community spirit
around the direction, there will be a way to endorse the direction
after the 26.
Signatories commit to participating in the next phase of this
discussion in good faith and to define, by Wikimania 2018, how to come
to an agreement, on roles, responsibilities, and organizational
strategies that enable us to implement that future.
They pledge to consider the needs of our movement above their own, and
to find the structures, processes, and resources for our movement that
enable us to best move towards our common direction.
== What endorsement does not mean ==
Endorsing the strategic direction does not mean that the signing
groups or individuals endorse all the steps that follow and the
decisions that are being made in phase 2. How organizations and
individuals use the outcomes of these conversations is up to them.
Some may use it to inform programmatic or organizational strategy.
Others may see it as a way to connect with the broader movement and
invite others to contribute to Wikimedia. Some may not use it at all –
and that’s okay!
== How to endorse ==
The endorsement page will be published under
on October 26. Please sign this page with your username (make sure to
be logged in) in the section for organized groups.
For organized groups:

For individual contributors:

direction and the “What comes next” paragraph beneath. Available
translations are used as a support to understand the context and

Good morning, all.
I hope everyone is well this morning.
Sometime ago, Sandister made an announcement that Impact Hub has given us
one spot everyday in their co-working office space.
To ensure that there isn't any confusion, anyone who wants to use it must
first inform me so two people don't show up on a day. The one who doesn't
will sadly have to pay the Daily rate.
This is just a gentle reminder about the arrangement and a PSA to anyone in
the community who would like to make use of the spot.
