@Rex: I’m curious to know more about this “0.4$ for 750 MB each day”
thing. Which provider is that?
The network is Airtel. Precisely, its 1 cedi per each day for 750 MB, which
I checked the exchange rate now stands at 0.26$.
The idea of mass ip blocking isn't going to fix things. A bot is simply the
solution imho. It just scans recently uploaded content using certain
filters and deletes those that doesn't meet specific requirements.

Not sure this has been shared here.
So I wanted to share this here for info and possible discussion.
Summary from Writer
Enterprising Angolans have used two free services—Facebook Free Basics and
Wikipedia Zero—to share pirated movies, music, television shows, anime, and
games on Wikipedia. And no one knows what to do about it.
Because the data is completely free, Angolans are hiding large files in
Wikipedia articles on the Portuguese Wikipedia site (Angola is a former
Portuguese colony)—sometimes concealing movies in JPEG or PDF files.
They’re then using a Facebook group to direct people to those files,
creating a robust, completely free file sharing network. A description for
a Facebook group with 2,700 members reads
<https://www.facebook.com/groups/1553180724893584/>: “created with the
objective of sharing music, movies, pictures, and ANIMES via Wikimedia.” I
was not admitted into the Facebook group and none of its administrators
responded to my messages for an interview.

Hello all,
*February meeting*
Our February edit-a-thon was captured in a Google Drive doc report
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uLVzinYqzVKtLgHU9_n-kuQjl7y4wd1U__mJ9TY…>.
You can check it out if you haven't. It will now be made public on the
Meta-Wiki.
(For those that don't know what Meta-Wiki is, it is a wiki like Wikipedia
but it is the website meant for coordination of all the Wikimedia
Foundation projects)
@ Rex you can now migrate the report. The photos have been uploaded on
WIkimedia Commons. Find them here
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Owula_kpakpo> and
here
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Edit-a-thons_in_Gh…>
.
*March meeting*
I am in talks with Impact Hub to host another month's edit-a-thon, this
time for March. I have proposed March 26. I am waiting for confirmation
from them, however please keep it mind as a possibility.
At the meeting we are going edit articles together and give new editors the
opportunity to learn more tips and tricks
*Barcamp Ashesi*
Is anyone attending? I will be there to talk about our group.
Please let me know.
*Lastly Membership Register*
You don't have to be a WMGH UG member to be an editor. But once you opt to
be in the community it's useful to know you are still with us as in any
proper organisation.
Please fill this membership form
