*Nervously raises his head above the parapet....* I have done some work with Andy regarding the Institution of Civil Engineers and we are aiming to develop this further. I am also involved as a consultant with the Association of Engineering Doctorates, so the ENGAGE 2012 public engagement with research project appeals. I have contacted ENGAGE.
I am also a PR person and a Wikipedian (user "Paul W" - since 2003). I introduced myself to David Gerrard at a CIPR/Wikipedia event during London Social Media Week and he encouraged me to make myself known.....

ENGAGE 2012: Responding to Change
The National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement is hosting a number
of specialist workshops targeted at anyone passionate about the role of
public engagement including: community groups, schools, festivals, museums
and galleries, voluntary sector and charities wanting to develop more
effective engagement work in partnership with the HE sector.
The workshops take place at 09.30 on Wednesday 5th December in three
central Bristol locations. There are a limited number of FREE PLACES
available to organisations that partner universities.
? MSHED ? The People?s Museum: Exploring the challenges and
opportunities of museums and universities working together in the city,
illustrated by the story of the M-Shed.
? Public Engagement with Health: Exploring how engagement has been
embedded into research practice, and what we can learn from this important
field.
? Creative Partnerships: Exploring the experience of working with
universities and on the strategies, techniques and approaches that
university partners have deployed to develop successful partnerships.

Why are we organising these events?
The National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) works with
universities to help enhance the social and public value of their research
and teaching. Since 2008 we have been working with universities, policy
makers and funders to embed a culture of public engagement in the work that
universities do. However, much of the engagement activity universities do
is in partnership with other organisations, which have strong links and
networks in the community. These include schools, festivals, museums and
galleries, and voluntary sector organisations and charities. These
specialist workshops form an important part of our third national
conference Engage 2012. To find out more about the conference and our work
