Hello,
The IRC logs of the last meeting, and the agenda for tomorrow's is available via [[meta:Wikimedia UK v2.0/Board meetings]].
Please have a look, and if you feel there's things that should be included in the agenda but isn't already, feel free to add it in yourself (and let me know so I can know what it is you want us to talk about).
Regards,
Kwan Ting Chan Chair, Wikimedia UK v2.0

I've already had someone from Chapters ctte point out to me that certain things cannot be done by 'the new team' until the new body is legal and above board and has a contract with the Foundation (eg. join the internal wiki and mailling list). Saying "Wikimedia UK" is one of those things (though yay and we know what you mean)
As with the first time around, you'll need to use your 'working name' (WIN?) for the time being and not imply you are an authorised part of the Wikimedia 'empire'.

You're absolutely right, we do need to be careful with that. I've been trying to quietly mention that whenever it's been relevant, but it seems not everyone is listening! ;)

I didn't say "Wikimedia UK", I said specifically "Wikimedia UK v2.0", i.e. the name used on the meta page to describe our effort to form a new chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation in the United Kingdom. I would use our working name, once we agree on one.......

Technically, we're not Wikimedia UK v2.0 until we officially replace v1.0 as the official UK chapter. The name we use on meta is somewhat questionable, but I doubt anyone cares about details like that. Calling yourself "Chair, Wikimedia UK v2.0" is probably taking things too far, though. How about "Chair, proposed Wikimedia UK v2.0"?

If and when we replaced Wiki Educational Resources Ltd. as the official Chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation in the United Kingdom, the company will be called ?, and operating under the name "Wikimedia UK", under a contract with the Wikimedia Foundation to use the trademark Wikimedia.
Wiki Educational Resources Ltd. never operated under the name "Wikimedia UK v1.0". On a similar note, the (soon to be officially) proposed Chapter will not be operating under the name "Wikimedia UK v2.0"
What I wrote "Chair, Wikimedia UK v2.0", it was specifically intended as it is used on the meta page. Namely, the chair of the group of people who is attempting to form a new Chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation in the United Kingdom.

Kwan Ting Chan Chair, the group of people who is attempting to form a new Chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation in the United Kingdom.

If you want to get finickity about it, "the group of people who are..." is gramatically better than "the group of people who is..."

That would depend upon whether the trying is being done by the people or the group :)

The group wouldn't be described as "who", though. It's either "the group of people who are" or "the group of people that is". (You've got to love pedantry!)
