Cheeky chappie, Gordon! It'd be great if you could go though - seriously, can you? Or anyone? I'd love to - and to think, I'm in St Petersburg the week before, but flights booked home now - no can do, I'm afraid :-(
Well anyway, best wishes to all in Poland!

Yes: I am a cheeky mood! Must be the start of Spring:-)

I was not sure where to find funds for the trip. I assumed that nobody would actually pay, neither the Foundation or "Wikimedia UK" since I assume that there is money, indeed no bank account!
Does "Wikimedia UK" want me to attend? I believe that I am able to go. Flights are about 150 quid.

So far as I currently see it, WMUK will not have either the funds to spend on a junket like this, nor the desire to pay them in the future as it would fall outside the remit of the organisation.
Separately, any person who happens to be an editor of a wikimedia project and based in the UK will, I am sure, be very welcome to attend the event in a personal capacity.

We'll see if we have the cash.
I think if Gordon has the cash, saying he's representing Wikimedia UK would be within our remit.

Is junketing in the remit of the organisation - I hope not.
If he pays for it himself - what would our representative do - that a normal member wouldn't do? Why does he need to have added status above a normal member - he's not there for any official purpose.
Let's not give you titles and prestige above everyone else - it's not as if any of you were elected by anyone or anything.

As it turns out, I cannot go to Poland due to a prior arrangement which I forgotten about.
