Hi all,
The Guardian have an article today on "British Museum makes the Wikipedia connection": http://www.guardian.co.uk/government-computing-network/2011/aug/08/british-m... which is based on an interview with Matthew Cock - covering the museum's viewpoint of Liam's Wikipedian in Residence, creating content vs. uploading photographs, QR codes and more. It's well worth a read.
Thanks, Mike

Liam's name was curiously absent from the article ... do we know why?

Matthew probably didn't name Liam as many people have been involved since things really started in 2010. Myself and Johnbod have been the points of contact this year for negotiating events though we did arrange an update lunch in the BM when Liam was recently in the UK.
In our discussions about the future Ice Age art exhibition we have bounced around the potential of including QR codes, this is tentative and at an early stage (special exhibitions in the BM are rather limited to English unless you use an audio guide) but I like that Matthew has decided to mention it to the Guardian as innovative technology even though we haven't done anything at the BM yet.
If you would like an advance insight as to what's going on (such as future press interviews), you might want to follow @matthewcock. I tend to keep news about plans for future events a bit close to my chest unless I am sure they are really going to happen.
There are sign-up pages for some future events that are on the cards at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAMBM please do add your name if you would like to chip in (even if you only plan to help with the occasional edit).
