Hello everyone,
As you may have seen the board discussed the Free Knowledge Advocacy Group
EU at their meeting the weekend past.
The Group is a collection of Wikimedia chapters which is looking at ways to
improve the regulations regarding copyright in the EU. They have
provisionally agreed to sign a collective statement of intent which sets
out how the group will work. This is subject to a community discussion
period. Please do take a look at the statement
here<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Free_Knowledge_Advocacy_Group_EU_statement_of_intent>
and
get involved in the discussion
here<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Talk:Free_Knowledge_Advocacy_Group_EU_statement_of_intent>
.
So far the statement has been signed by WMFR, WMNL, WMSE and WMAT. It is
before the board of WMDE and other chapters are also currently discussing
the statement.
Thank you,
Stevie
