Hi all,
Just wondering who from the UK is going to Wikimania in Poland this year? It's nice to have it back in Europe and relatively accessible to the UK and hopefully there will be a few of us there.

Last time it was in Poland, I joined multi day wiki-train group that took the Eurostar from London, we were met in Cologne by the local community who gave us a local tour, and then onwards up to Gdansk! I won't be able to join any equivalent of that this time though unfortunately.

Where are people staying? I'm in the Ibis which is apparently a 13-minute walk from the venue because I'm travelling independently. I don't know where WMF/chapter/scholarship folks are staying. The Hotel Diament?

I'm going :) As it's the first Wikimania in Europe in five years (and next year will be in East Africa) we're also sending a few other chapter staff.
Liam I looked into the trains but it just wasn't feasible for me from Scotland. Our Wikimedian for Climate, Tatjana Baleta, will be travelling by train though.

That's a good idea for Paris. I never fly in the UK but generally everywhere else feels too far to go by train. Mind you my husband has been to Lyon, Geneva and Rotterdam by train this year!
