I'm very happy to share the fantastic news that our application for a £5,000 grant from the Wikimedia Foundation has been approved in full.
More details of our bid are given at http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Initiatives/Bid
This grant will be a great help in kick starting the chapter's activities. By taking us over the £5,000 threshold it also simplifies our application for charitable status.
Regards,
Andrew Turvey

I'm very happy to share the fantastic news that our application for a £5,000 grant from the Wikimedia Foundation has been approved in full.
Excellent! That's very generous of them. Now we need to spend it!
I've just heard back from them and our MoA and AoA is sufficient proof of non-profitability. They're starting the transfer process next week!

I thought non-profitability was a requirement for recognition as a chapter, so I'm surprised they wanted to check that again. Our governing documents are very explicit about the fact, so it's not surprising that they were sufficient (there is no other proof we could offer, any kind of charitable status would just mean that the authorities had looked at our governing documents and seen the same statements of non-profitability).
