Hello all,
Just seen this Tweet - https://twitter.com/MayorofLondon/status/1006560526627942402 - from Sadiq Khan showing his support for the WMUK / Bloomberg editathon yesterday.
Well done to everyone involved!
Stevie
Sadiq Khan has tweeted in our support three times in the last 24 hours. It’s a shock to read the tweets he’s had in reply, though. It seems he has a huge number of very unpleasant followers who are there solely to attack him personally.

That's great he is so supportive but the way he gets treated online is appalling.

He's both a prominent person of colour and in favour of staying in the EU.
The abuse he gets online is simultaneously shocking and wholly unsurprising. 😞

and to cap it all, he’s supporting efforts to deal with the gender gap. Honestly, how evil can you get ... ?

Any Wikimedians who are on Twitter, could you please go and like the Mayor's Twitter post about the editathon so we can improve the ratio of likes to comments? Thanks.

Well done Wikimedia UK. Someone (not me!) mentioned it at the office a few weeks ago, followed by several nods and comments along the lines of "that's a good thing to do". Events like this do a lot of positive work beyond the number of articles improved on the day.
