Hello Wikimedians, I applied for Glastonbury tickets for Wikimedia photographers, and our request was initially declined, but Glastonbury got back to me yesterday and offered us a ticket to send a photographer. The original person who asked me to ask for a ticket for them can no longer attend the dates (Wednesday 26 - Sunday 30 June), so I would like to offer Wikimedia members who are able to take good quality photos the ticket. We need to tell Glastonbury who is going ASAP, so if you would like the spare ticket, please email me today if you are a member and have a decent camera to take photos with. Preference will be given to people who have experience of submitting quality photos to Wikimedia Commons, so please let me know your level of experience as a photographer.
All the best,

Hi John,
I have already got a ticket (will be there Tues 25th – Mon 1st) so don’t need this one, but will try to take some decent photos to upload to commons. In some of the tents etc with variable lighting this can be a bit of a challenge.
If there are specific areas, performers etc which are needed let me know.
Rod

Yes please. Have not been to Glastonbury for over two decades! I have a Lumix G6, including a 14-140 lens for close-ups. Have taken 1000s of photos for Commons, and have won a 1st place award in the annual competition.
best wishes Edwardx

Thanks for the replies. If you're going to Glastonbury anyway, and can get any photos of artists especially who have Wikipedia pages without photos, then those would be the most useful. Ed has been the first person to reply asking for the ticket, so as I have to tell Glastonbury ASAP, I'm going to put Ed's name down for it.
Thanks everybody, and please remember that if you're a WMUK member and would like a photography pass to attend an event and have a decent camera, WMUK is happy to ask for press accreditation for any events where there might be people or other content to take photos of. As you can see, even big events like Glastonbury are willing to offer us a free ticket.
