I pinged wikitech-l. Well, it's in ops' queue, and they've been pinged recently!

This issue is still waiting on movement from the operations to be resolved.
There are a few facets to the problem that we've been trying to resolve simultaneously:
1) A while back we pushed out changes to the code that handles automatic redirection of mobile devices to mobile versions of the projects that sent anyone trying to access *.wikimedia.org who met the redirect rules to *. m.wikimedia.org (except for commons, bits, office, and donate). We did this thinking we had a definitive list of *.wikimedia.org domains and all had corresponding .m domains. This was an error. Before making further changes to the regular expression that handles the redirection, the mobile team was asked by ops to make some changes to the C code to make it easier to update the rules (instead of relying on a hard-coded regex in the c code itself, load a config file containing redirect rules). Max has made the requested changes, the changes have undergone a security review, but we are still waiting for ops to merge and deploy the changes ( https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/27035/). Max is working on updating the redirect rules, pending the approval of the aforementioned changes.
2) We've requested that a uk.m.wikimedia.org subdomain be created in the interim to alleviate the problem and simultaneously requested that all wikimedia.org subdomains have a .m subdomain created as well. The RT ticket with the request was filed Oct 5 ( https://rt.wikimedia.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=3661), but has yet to be remarked or acted upon.
The ops team is certainly *very* busy, but hopefully we will see movement on these soon.

Is there anyone who can look into this? It was raised on wikimediauk-l again.
