I'd be happy to see some funds allocated to people so they can attend relevant conferences. Not only will the attendee learn about useful topics but it will also provide an opportunity for a bit of networking and the person can spread the word about Wikimedia UK.
For that reason I would be happiest if the person who attends these things is someone very outgoing and talkative.
